Bestowed by a servant of a diety, so it comes indirectly. Splitting hairs. So if yours is surrounded by flame, then why can't mine cut like metal? It doesn't seem too much of a stretch to me, provided that the priest was high enough in the hierarchy.

Edit: I guess I'm just better at degrading other people than defending myself. Natural selection at work. (Sarcasm, in case you couldn't tell.)

No, you still don't get it...

Ok, blessing isn't done for offensive purposes, its done for defensive. If you get a high priest to bless your cross, and you hold that cross out, a vampire will be pushed back. Your asking for the priest to perform a miracle, and most priests are still pacifists, so they won't go, "Oh sure, lemme make that wooden sword act like metal so you can kill things..."

StormRider 03-28-2004 07:11 PM

All right, all right. I had already changed it anyway. I think we should leave it up to Flare, though. It's her RP.

So, I take it no one has any complaints about my kung-fu guy?

...That has a pair of really mean pistols....

Before everyone goes completely crazy with "silver-weapon-palooza" here, I'd like to point out that BMH was right. Silver doesn't have any special effects on vampires. It's silver bullet through the heart of a WEREWOLF, not vampire.

But then, go ahead and ignore me, and you'll all be screwed when your puny silver weapons don't have an effect on us. Mwahahaha. :bmage:

StormRider 03-29-2004 12:28 AM

Traditionally, silver has an adverse effect on all the undead, just especially so on werewolves. But, apparently that's not the case here. So I changed it.

IHateMakingNames 03-29-2004 12:29 AM

Traditionally, name one undead (With proof) where silver does anything. I have never heard of silver hurting any form of Undead more then any other material before (Besides Blade movies).

And were-wolves are living, not dead.

StormRider 03-29-2004 12:38 AM

Well, I'm no expert on vampires, but from what I know of the subject, which admittedly isn't much, silver and iron supposedly repel/harm the undead because they represent mankind's dominance over nature, and the unholy aspects thereof.

Forever Zero 03-29-2004 01:01 AM

In Vampire: the Masquerade RPG, Vampires are weak against silver I believe. Not as much so as Werewolves, but they are weak against it.

I believe, but am not sure (I haven't read it in over a year), that in the original Dracula, Vampires have an aversion, if not an actual weakness, to silver, but only very pure silver.

*Note to self, never create a sign-up on Fridays, since you're never really around much on weekends.....*

Silver's affect on Vampires: Pretty much zilch.

And I'll put up the RP soon. Today or Tomarrow.
