Structured Procrastination

Or, learning to get things done by never getting anything done.

I think I'll get around to reading this tomorrow when I have something more important to be doing.

42PETUNIAS 04-13-2008 08:18 PM

See, I'd try doing this, but I know that I'd just keep going back to the least important thing I can be doing, i.e. internetting.

This is fucking BRILLIANT. Gonna try it on my Physics paper once I'm done doing laundry.

EDIT: Oh, HA HA. Just realized the irony. I swear to God that was not on purpose.

Why couldn't I have found this four years ago? I would have had a 4.0 easy. It's very true. Every time I have something far more important, I'd like to work on my novel, but when I finally have the time to buckle down and power through a chapter, the drive is gone. I'd much rather play Fire Emblem.

Fifth, have I told you YOU ROCK!!! recently?

This reminds me of fact that I need to renew a book I borrowed from the library about procrastination.

In all seriousness, I've been telling myself, "I'll read it tomorrow," for the past four weeks.

I don't know whether I should laugh or cry.

I'm currently getting my powerpoint presentation done by reminding myself I'm supposed to get home and finish the laundry. This is totally fantastic.

Yeah, it's all well and good until you find out that your laundry has mildewed from being in the washer too long. :p

(Incidentally, "I have to do the laundry" is the typical excuse I give myself when it comes to doing chores that I hate, such as washing the dishes or cleaning the oven.)

Fifthfiend 04-13-2008 11:26 PM

I've left stuff in for like two days and had it come out fine and dancin'. I am convinced that mildew is a myth.
