Honey Mustard

Hmmm... Honey mustard as a food....

Now this depends on what type you eat...
Are we talking home made?
Are we talking store bought?

Now the best store bought was when i was up in Michigan, i actually order this stuff now, just because its so damn good. Its funny, if you actually let it sit for a while, you can see all the honey at the bottom of the jar, and the mustard sitting on top of it. Well, i know you werent serious about this, but hey, figured you would enjoy this.

You should probably re-read the forum descriptions. :p

I always found the notion of combining honey and mustard a very odd one until I saw some honey mustard flavoured pretzel snacks at the store and took the opportunity to see what all the fuss was about. They were fantastic and I should try this stuff with more foods.

I prefer just plain mustard, and just plain honey. I love food mixes, but honey and mustard is where I draw the line.

To be perfectly honest, sometimes the stuff makes me sick!

Which is why I get my pretzels and mustard seperate so I don't make the mistake of having honey mustard ones.

Everyone else in my family enjoys Spicy Mustard though.

I find myself putting Honey on my Pretzels, and certainly not tainting their doughy goodness with Mustard. :/

Honey Mustard is alright on meat though, like hot dogs.

Oops, thought I posted this in the Discussion forum >.<
Oh well.
If you want to take the poor mans approach to making honey mustard, get some honey, some mustard, and some mayo(miracle whip for that little bit of zing!)

It would be much appreciated if one of the mods could move this for me, sorry to trouble you.

I found it goes good with ham, and even baked chicken, unbreaded of course. Adds a bit of a diffrent taste to the food.

Well, honey mustard is pretty awesome, but really only on chicken strips. You can't eat them without it.

Dijon mustard is good on pretty much everything though. Sausage, hot dogs, and more.I recommend trying it on Macaroni and Cheese.

No seriously try it!

I enjoy honey mustard, but I find I prefer other condiments for most everything. Usually ranch and/or catsup is my condiment of choice.

I loooove those honey mustard pretzels though.

You did, but that's not where it goes. Discussion is meant for the serious social/political stuff. (I guess the news could do with more headlines involving honey mustard, but alas.)

... I'm still not entirely sold on the idea of just mixing up a batch, though. Is American mustard in any way different from European? Despite my 100% positive experience with the aforementioned snacks (pretzel snacks, too) I can't quite wrap my head around the idea.

For that matter, you better believe this whole thing was the outcome of nothing more than a drunken late night snack urge; all the better for mankind, but still, most assuredly humble roots.

Well it depends, I find the Senf here(Austria) to be far superior to the mustard of the states. I simply can not get a wurst ohne senf, dip it in with the semmel (bun), it is delicious. I have never tried honey and mustard fixed, but I can only imagine the results, and they are not good. But, I could be wrong. Maybe next time I go for a wurst I will put some honey in with the senf and see what happens!
