Wait, did they ever find out who stole their money?
I don't remember if that was ever resolved. They seemed to forget about it after becoming Light Warriors.

I think I recall an episode where its revealed that the old man in this comic, wasn't the one who stole the money. I also think that there might be a comic where they run into the actual old guy, but I might be mistaken.

Chaos, in disguise.
OMG PLOT TWIST?! |
I think there's still one more comic involved in all this, but I'm not sure if its a resolution or not. As memory serves, there is a comic (that takes place after they get the Deathtrap) in which BM kills a old man in blue robes. I forget the dialogue, but it was clear to me that it had something to do with the earlier comics.

I HAVE FOUND THE ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM!
Sarda, The Wizard Who Did It, is the only logical explanation. He took all of fighter's money in exchange for the quest info, which caused him and Black Mage to go on a mad quest that almost killed them, only to return to town and sign up as light warriors. This clearly characterizes Sarda because it led to their getting him the light orbs, yet caused a fair amount of suffering on part of the Light Warriors. I also recall that Fighter specified that the old man was wearing a red robe. Or was it blue? Oh well, Sarda is all the colors he wants to be anyway. Stupid omnipotent Jackass. EDIT: The fact that I can't be bothered to look at those links can be blamed entirely on Seil. |
Or it was a convenient plot device to give Black Mage some motivation coupled with a joke that has no further significance.
Sometimes there just are jokes in this comic. *shrug* |
