Actually, I might change to a drifter. The psycology could really help the group. Of course, you could say Frankie died in the hospital and make that guy.
|
New character as promised.
Name: Philip Monroe Sex: Male Age: 22 Occupation: Private Detective College Degrees: 3rd year University Birthplace: Canada Description: A family friend of the Valentine family, Phillip Monroe is like a brother to Gabriel and Michael, and like a son to Macalister. Intelligent, with brooding hazel eyes, and a serious demeanor, he is a quiet and calculating man. He is short, at 5’6, and beset with a thin, muscular frame. Growing up the son of a farmer, he dreamed of the city and of greater things than agriculture. Moving from home at 18 he promptly enrolled in University, paying the bills by working as a Private Investigator. With no real cases under his belt, save spying on cheating husbands for jealous wives, his life is about to take a drastic turn when he is hired to find an old friend … Stats Strength - 6 Constitution - 8 Size - 7 Intelligence - 15 Dexterity 12 Power - 6 Appearance - 11 Education - 15 Sanity - 35 Important Non-Stats to keep in mind. He won't last past the first zombie we see before he goes nuts.
|
They say the mind bends to deal with the horrors of life.
Sometimes it bends so much It snaps ... |
Demon? I got some bad news.
In an IM conversation...Celes stole your pants. |
How is that bad news?
|
Actually they were leather chaps.
They were the source of my power ... Without them ... I'm not faaaaabulous! |
I was gonna' give them back, then Celes grabbed them, and started snarling and waving swords, while going, "MINE! ALL MINE!"
Then she ran off giggling. And I played Shinobi. |
And that is why I hate most people on AIM. They are complete idiots (More so then in real life).
And Shinobi sucks. |
Celes is Shinobi!
You called her stupid in two ways! How dare you slander the bearer of the 'Sacred Chaps of Fabulousness +3!" Good Sir, I demand satisfaction! |
I can't get no...duna nuh...satis.faction...duna nuh....I can't get no....satis...faction...
*continues singing* |
...And you say they're even stupider in IM, IHMN? That's sad... so very sad.
|
Umm I am not going to ask what I missed. So whens the next chapter going to start?
|
Somewhat soon. I will post an update in the main RP, then give everyone 24 hours to post what they do in the three weeks of free time (Frankie will be in the hospital for two, just so you know krylo), then I will start off a new mission with a new chapter.
|
*Steals Spirit's pants, just for the hell of it*
Wow...my lawyer...is probably going to be COVERING OUR ASSES. That, or trying to build up his sanity. |
My character is approved then?
|
*Stamp* You character gets the GM seal of approval. You new guy is in.
|
Spirit takes back his pants. " Thier stain proof goodness is not to be taken (pun not intentend) lightly"
So I may build or add stats. Hmmm how about My Occult skill is that fine? |
Occult is a safe one to add. Cthulhu Mythos is the only dangerous skill to add.
|
What about the new characters? Do they get to do something for the weeks before they become investigators?
|
Not as much. It takes one week for the mansion and all to work itself out, and one week to set up the buisness. All new investigators will have only 1 week, and they can't spend it with Dr. Armitage since he will deny everything to someone unknown to the Mythos, but they can train any other way they wish for their one free week. The characters won't be telling you they are Mythos fighters, you will learn when "Special Investigations" happen, and the new guys, while maybe warned, stumble on the Mythos for themsleves.
|
So are we going to investigate the Dunwich horror, or go to innsmouth? or better yet hunt the Black goat of the woods?
|
Great... Demon's new guy is a stalker. He just happens to choose the female of the group to track down and follow.
|
I was going to comment on that... Now we all get to be sick as he attempts to woo her on missions while monsters munch his teammates, and watch as she casually shrugs off the fact that from a long list of names, he chose hers and starts tracking her down...
|
And, now having just read the intro to his character, he decided to make up a heart condition for whatever reason, but failed to mention it before when he made Gabe...
|
The heart condition was just a way of me ... justifying Gabriel's last actions.
He had nothing to lose, and it added something to his character, I should think. |
How do people practice dodging? Just go out back and jump around?
|
May you run into the black goat of the woods
|
krylo, let me put it this way. Why do you think a nurse would go after a bedridden man who got there when someone apparently tried to eat his neck?
And while it is highly humerous, and I am very tempted to let you do it, I'm going to have to veto the Plate Mail Armor, since your character doesn't have the strength to use it properly. Oh, and your dodge goes up to 51%. Just remember, that you can't dodge and shoot at the same time, so you need to choose. You stood and went berserk when Zombie David attacked, so he had the chance to bite you again. Isn't the black goat of the woods the Dark Young? Can't remember, need to look that up. EDIT: Found it, and pray you NEVER face a Dark Young... they are nasty, both to fight and to see... |
Is there a fast talk % like there is for other skills? If so, what is my guy's %?
|
The Black Goat of the woods with many young, is Shub Niggurath
|
Fast talk starts at 5%, you have 70% extra, thus your total Fast Talk is, obviously, 75%.
Ahh, I thought you ment her children, the Dark Young. You don't want to meet the god either, just to warn you, even though I haven't looked up the stats yet... |
Quote:
And damn... how strong do you need to be for full plate mail? |
Wouldn't krylo's two weeks of fast talking add up to his fast talking skill?
What is the average for stats anyway? Edit - Spirit is also a stalker, deciding to say that Clara is the one that accused him of stacking (Even though you shouldn't have said your character had been beating everyone in card since it is controlling their characters, and that is bad) |
And his sexual stamina if he succeeded enough.
I would guess 9 is average if 18 is max. |
FZ please don't put in goat boy...( thats what our group called the black goat) For the love of God don't That was in my first Call game and that was my first AND second dead character in a call game. I have God awful luck against it. Not even my lucky platinum plated dice could help...
Edit IHMN consider it fixed |
Like he said, 9 or 50% is average, and 18 or 90% and above is superhuman. Thus krylo, at 4 STR, isn't even average in STR, and thus couldn't wear a suit pf Platemail, which is extremely heavy.
Spirit, change your post, controlling others characters is BAD. I hate it, and most everyone hates it, so cahnge it. And skill rolls don't add up. Each time it is done it is a new roll. |
Platinum plated dice ...
A nerd's way of overcompensating. |
Frankie's items for this mission, thus far:
Items- A .22 Short Automatic. A dusty wool suit. A backpack full of fiction books and 2 clips of extra ammo (that's three clips total, one in his gun, two in the backpack). A deck of playing cards. Three bottles of coke A bloody notebook (with important bits from the journal written in it) Bloody pencil/pen Pocket knife David's destroyed keys Also... who got to loot the others' bodies, and did anyone go in the attic to search afterward? There might have been things there. If no one looted the bodies specifically, I'd guess most of their stuff would end up at the mansion after a few weeks in the evidence locker. |
humor me look up Shub Niggurath it's not like she's even the baddes thing in the mythos either. She's a minor goddess of fertility.
|
Spirit, why the fuck are you invisable now?
And change your post, or you next battle will be an army of Dark Young led by Shub herslef... |

And wait a sec Jad, a full description is on the way, with stats. |
What skills should I be rasing for my three weeks? Choices are fast talk, disguise, lock smith, and handguns.
Also, does lock smith include picking locks? And, new thread? These high post threads annoy me for some reason... |
Gabriel also had a car. Who took that? Or did someone stash it somewhere? And what happened to all the bodies? Were they burned with the barn?
|
Go with locksmith, IHMN... and I'm assuming that it does involve picking locks, and making keys from blanks (which you can stick into a locked door, wiggle around, and get a mold to make a key for), etc. Locksmithing skills.
|
No I didn't even know they were platinum until I checked it out. I won them in a bet with this one guy (the bet was over who would fall for this one gag I pulled.) Then when I checked to see if it was silver It turns out it was Platinum. Weird huh? Oh and FZ sorry there forgot about that I put in Psychoanalyis instead...
|
Damn... he changed it... I was hoping I could loot his corpse too.
|
Although he's a doctor and he'd have money I don't think you'd have much use for what hes got on him...

Stats for Shub-Niggurath, The Black Goat of the Woods. (I am not making up these stats...)
STR - 72 CON - 170 SIZ - 120 INT - 21 POW - 70 DEX - 28 Move (How far she moves in one round, a human moves 8) - 15 HP - 145 Bonus Damage - +11D6 Weapons - Tentacle 100%, if hit equals an automatic catch. She then drags you body close and sucks out your bodily fluids, draining 1D6 STR per round until at 0 STR. Trample 75% - 11D6 Bite 100% - damage is 1D6 STR per round. Armor - Shub-Niggurath has no armor, but her slimy mist body is immune to physical weapons. Magical Weapons, or fire, or electricity, or similar energies damage her normally. Her ropy tentacles and gooey vapors can rejoin, effectivly allowing her to regenerate points of damage. For every 1 magic point she expends enables her to heal 2 damage. Spells - She knows at minimum all spells pertaining to the Outer Gods; she is knwon to have imparted Create Gate, Curse of Azathoth, and Voorish Sign to favorites. Sanity Loss - 1D10 (Success) / 1D100 (Failure) to see Shub-Niggurath |
You say that as though it should make a difference to my loot happy ways, Spirit. I'll loot anything and anyone. I'd have looted the bowels of the lurker if we had killed it instead of banished it.
|
I wonder what jokes we can make with this female tenticle beast...
|
Probably far too many...
And Spirit, Occult rose to 30%, and hadngun rose to 40% with the 20% bonus to 60% Handgun. All characters were healed of minor injuries. You will all start out, either from Spirit's mental healing or you own physical healing, at 100% percent Sanity and HP. |
Well... for one thing, she doesn't need strap ons...
And I could take her. |
And of the corpses? Burned? Buried?
|
Corpses were burned, no looting for Frankie. Any skeletons or recoveralbe remains were buried as Jhon Does since there was no way to identify the charred skeletons.
|
Lock smith = Lock picking? How will a thief join investigators? If we encounter a Shub-Niggurath, can Clara go first? New thread?
|
I will cover all that in the new thread then.
