Feel free to skip over the 'in-game explanation behind the universes merging'. I don't really care anyway and there's no way it could make sense.

What I'm more interested in is that they're trying to start from scratch with the entire Mortal Kombat fighting engine. Boon says the game is going to feature lots of different 'gameplay modes', where the camera perspective shifts and the style of combat changes.

So you can go toe-to-toe with a zoomed-in camera, Rock-Em-Sock-Em Robots style, and when people get tossed through walls you even engage in fighting while you fall.

Nifty stuff. I doubt I'm going to be able to take Mortal Kombat serious on a competitive level like I do with Guilty Gear or Smash Bros, but at least it'll be fun.

People like my psycho Batman link in the previous thread, so here's another one that even has something to do with this crossover thing directly.

All I can say is that if they added Mxyzptlk into the game then I'd totally play this.

if they would just make something like "the fans vote to make the roster" it would be at least possible for this to succed.

i mean... what fighting game with Dc characters were ever good? Hell! Mk is only good because of the Fatality system...

Ok, Superman can get hurt by magic.. that makes POSSIBLE for him to be in this. And people in the MK universe could probably take a direct punch from Supes and dont die...

it can work... i liked the idea... untill i started thinking about it. Now im just afraid of the ramifications... "versus" titles will be back...

See, I actually remember whne MK was good. Like MK2/3. Yeah, the 3D ones were kinda meh, but they were playable. The fact they are redoing the gameplay system has me excited, though the removal of weapons has me saddened.

Mortal Kombat minus Weapons and Fatalities... hum.......

Well... what about the Characters?

I hope they dont put Aquaman in there.... that would suck. But im pretty sure they will put all the Members of the Justice League...

Sandman would be actually fun... but it wont happen because the people who do the Models of the characters would be too fucking lazy to make a proper Sandman.

A majority of the complaints usually end up being "None of this would make sense because ________ is way more powerful than _______," to which I reply, when has there ever been a good DC-character video game? Really? Batman? Superman? Anything?

I'm willing for them to bend the rules as much as need be to make something halfway decent. And given the fact that Boon is taking out all of the ridiculous blood and gore that was Mortal Kombat's staple for the last two decades in favor of actual fighting mechanics, I think we can let him.
