It's fun to rant about ignorant people
 

Hello. Most of you probably don't know me. But now I'm going to rant. And it's Video Games related! But, anyway...
Well, I read the Nintendo Official Magazine UK. Well, for those of you familiar with it, you may have your own views.
Don't get me wrong, I do like it. I buy it every month. But so do ignorant people (Stupid isn't a very nice word at all).

Ages ago, there was someone who said something along the lines of
"Hey, Nintendo made a mistake in Majora's Mask. How come Link has the Ocarina of Time when he gave it back at the end of Ocarina of Time?" (I can't remember anything exactly...) and the reply they gave him was something along the lines of
"You're right! The Big N made a mistake there!"
Well, needless to say, I was annoyed at this mistake and tempted to right in and flame the...misguided person.
But the next month, someone replied saying something like
"No, Link still had the Fairy Ocarina that Saria gave him, remember?" and NOM was all like "Hey! You're right! He did have the Fairy Ocarina!"

Well. Months passed and there was no correction to this. I did send out an e-mail, but...well, I didn't send it. I accidentally saved it and sent it about a month ago. But still: Can't these people remember, what? Half an hour into the game where LINK REMEMBERS ZELDA GIVING THE OCARINA OF TIME TO HIM???

But...anyway. Another ..person send in a letter which a crappy opinion.

This person was like "Yeah! I love Super Mario Sunshine! It's something [I can't] and also an excellent RPG the puts Final Fantasy to shame [It actually wasn't underlined in his letter, I just think this underlines the ignorance in his letter] ~Some comment about it being better than in Final Fantasy where you can only go forward in the chain of events~"

Now, to this I was like "Well, Super Mario Sunshine is not an RPG at all and it could never put the whole Final Fantasy series to shame. Final Fantasy is Linear because it has levels. With Mario, the only thing limiting you is your skill and Bowser was pathetically easily, whereas Final Fantasy bosses pose a challenge."

Gah! I just hate people like this!

They're also almost totally obsessed with graphics. Yeah, WindWaker was bad because the graphics were bad! Well, I loved Wind Waker...but it was too short...

Anyway, that's enough of my boring ranting.

My Dear God...

Stupid people are scary..... o_o I won't even go there when it comes to the people who work in video games at the Wal-Mart where I live.....

~twitch~ ~shudder~ It really scares me... this is why I always go to EB or some other game store where they actually KNOW what they are talking about... and at least know how to pronounce names -_-

Nintendo Power subscribers are generally subpar in the area of intelligence. ;)

Interesting point. Especially interesting since Nintendo Power wasn't even mentioned.

I consider myself to be very special. Because I have an IQ above 10 and I read Nintendo Official Magazine UK.

Well, to be fair, there can be intelligent people sending in stuff...But...then again, someone took a picture of a banana and sent it in...




Ok, ok, so there's more to it than that. It was a 'Dole' brand Banana. Y'know, like in Super Monkey Ball. But still.

Yes it is fun to rant about stupid people ;)

But aside from that was this a forum or the magazine itself?
Also who wrote this? was it the editors or just some kids writing?

And yes it is bad to see people act ignorant around games they seem to think that it is somthing way over their head and it may be, but some kids shouldn't get their mom to buy them their christmas gift especially if the mother dose not know what she is doing (and that goes for the ignorant cashier).

the hardware help section of PC Gamer is always good for a laugh...

sometimes they put someones letter in just so they can laugh at them.

Have you read some of EGM's letters? they are good laugh as well

Am I one of the few people who loved the charm of WindWaker's graphics? I loved them. They were so vibrant and colorful. So what if it made it look childish? You play a KID in the game, so why wouldn't it?

Sigh

Some people just can't think of these sort of things...
