Metroid SR-388.

This is what happens when Nintendo doesn't make a new 2d Metroid game.

Now suddenly...I'm not terribly saddened anymore.

Okay on a serious note, that looks fucking amazing and I can't wait.

Hey Nintendo! Hire guys like him! If you shut him down, then at least buy him out so that he can make it for you guys and then you can cash in.

Do want SR-388.

Okay that's cool and all but when is this coming out? Because I swear I saw this same thread some months ago. It's about damn time they release a demo or something.

Mirai Gen 05-06-2008 03:49 AM

Naw what you saw before was the Metroid II remake.

This is a wholly new game with designed-from-scratch graphics like the Pushing Block Samus Sprite and the new bomb animation.

So, in essence, it's better than the Metroid II one. Because this is a wholly new game.

That stuff looks red-hot. Really looking forward to it, but I hope the release ain't too soon; gotta play through the other Metroids first !

I'm not really keen on the implication of pushable cube puzzles, but it looks cool anyway.

Mirai Gen 05-07-2008 03:11 AM

Well they kind of left the cube-pushing to Zelda. I don't think it'll be terrible provided that it's a very minor part of the game.

I loved super metroid, and this looks like it, only it's like the Super Metroid in my dreams where the world is perfect and everything is designed to make me happy. Really looking forward to it, but there are a couple of problems on my end.

1.) If an emulator is required, does anyone know of a good one that isn't too much trouble to operate?

2.) Will I go to jail for downloading this?

Well, since it is a remake of a GB game, I doubt it'll be a rom hack. If it is though, it lost a few points in my book. It should hopefully be a full fledged exe file.

Not the rom hack, or if it's an exe file. So no, it would be impossible. the only thing that could send you to jail would be to have an illegal copy of the rom on your cpu.

Other than that, I highly look forward to this game. I need another good 2d Metroid to love.

There was other new stuff, I noticed a sprite where Samus was walking backwards, which is something I'm pretty sure you couldn't do in previous Metroid games.

The only thing about this, is sure it looks neat, but until I see a final product, I'm not going to get overly excited. I've seen many a fan project come & go, with nothing more than a movie to show for their work, or maybe a barely functional demo.

Yeah, it might be more than just this, but then again it might not.
