All coffee tables are pathetic and USELESS compared to this thing.

My first thought was, "oh hey, this thing looks cool. Very nice recreation, and storage space to boot!"

Then I watched the video and thought, "Wait, that thing fucking works!?"

there's a G4 tech video that shows how to do it... I guess this guy isn't the FIRST, but even still... it's really awesome.

In my experience soldering fine electronics is about as hard as soldering anything else - not hard.

I'd imagine making the woodwork look nice would be the hardest job. But then again I think anyone who looks at that project imagines the part they are least familiar with is the hardest.

I think that soldering a connector pin on a silicon board is vastly more difficult that soldering copper pipes, or even stereo wires to be honest. You can't just take a torch to the mess and expect it to work.

edit: HA! He totally forgot to scallop the insides of the A and B buttons... pfft. noob. lol

On a side note, that was some excellent craftsmanship. Even having a non-functional model as a conversation piece would be excellent, but could you imagine the money they could make from crafting those things for Nintendo fanboys?
