As for this new character... really, I couldn't give a fuck at this point. They're just adding characters for the sake of adding characters now, all made by people that nobody's even heard of and simply aren't interested in. I won't use any of these "guest" characters at all, not while I've still got Mitsi and the rest to play (you know, the characters who actually matter).

In short, they should really just stop now. Like, immediately, if not sooner.

Wait, wait, wait; lemme get this straight. There's been complaints and controversy along the years about how video games portray women as nothing but sex objects, but when something's being done about it (albeit something rather minor), people start bitching?

I didn't ever play any of the Soul Calibur series for the boobies. I played them because I liked hitting stuff with a gigantic sword.

But in boobies-related commentaries, that new girl has almost none because she probably had to donate some of her boob size to Ivy. There must be a contract or something. Also, everything but her face reminds me of Stella Deus. And hey, you know what could be worse? If Tony Taka designed a character for it!

( Tony Taka is the character designer for Shining Tears. He also draws hentai, according to wikipedia. This is why there's a ninja catgirl, a hot elf chick and a magician with a corset and a cape, I guess. )

So what you're saying is you want the series to stagnate even further without the introduction of new characters and plots? As much as I like Astaroth, Mitsurigi, and the others I'm very bored of them after three games. The more new characters they bring in adds more variety to game.

I like the right-side design infinitely more. It looks less like she ripped the lower half off and hemmed it for no reason. Ever since I saw the concept art/first screens of Ivy sporting a top designed by Boobies McSnacktray Industries I've just been getting more and more tired of it. It's like, once you are defying the laws of physics with the boob-o-matics (Nevermind the kind of dance she has to do for her Command Grab) just for more female flesh it's like, okay, just release an Xbox Live "Take Off Clothes" option and just be done with it. If you're going to make virtual porn at least don't be shy about it. Women can be sexier with more clothes on than this.

Sigh. Anyway, sorry but that's something that's bugged me incessantly about this game.

Having said thus - I've lately transitioned almost entirely into a 2d fighting gamer, and Soul Calibur III was fun but a huge disappointment in some areas. I suppose a bug that erased your save data that was used to unlock more armor and equipment for custom creation mode kind of killed it for me.

I will only pick this game up if - and only if - they finally find some way to make a single-player campaign game for unlockables and such that both still incorporates the fighting game engine present in SC and does not suck all that is ass.
