Nationstates Region

I was disturbed to notice the lack of a Nuklear Power region in Nationstates, so I started one.

http://www.nationstates.net/

Nationstates, in case you don't know, is a (free) online game where you make a nation, choose it's policies, and watch it slowly become batshit insane.

It's cool.

I'd join, but I'm currently holding delegateship in another region. Though that regions basically dead.

The Artist Formerly Known as Hawk 05-19-2008 04:32 PM

The Empire of Hawk Of Battle is a tiny, safe nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 5 million are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The small, corrupt, moralistic government devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Commerce receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 16%, but much higher for the wealthy. A small private sector is dominated by the Gambling industry.

Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Hawk Of Battle's national animal is the grand hawk and its currency is the naquadria.

Civil Rights: Unheard Of
Economy: Reasonable
Political Freedoms: Outlawed

Yes, I am a totally evil bastard.

Wotsrab 05-19-2008 04:43 PM

Is the region named "Nuklear Power" or is it called something else?

Added through Edit:

The Republic of Valcantis is a tiny, pleasant nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-working, cynical population of 5 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Healthcare, and Defence. The average income tax rate is 21%. A small private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Book Publishing and Retail.

Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low. Valcantis's national animal is the wolf and its currency is the coin.

Civil Rights: Average
Economy: Good
Political Freedoms: Few

Masked Jedi 05-19-2008 04:59 PM

What's the region?

Mr.Bookworm 05-19-2008 05:07 PM

It's just titled "Nuklear", though maybe I should've added something on the end.

The People's Democratic Republic of Liberated Terra is a massive, socially progressive nation, renowned for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 1.02 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, the Environment, and Public Transport. The average income tax rate is 100%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Mobile phone masts are being erected all over the country, research into 'designer babies' is banned, houses and businesses are bulldozed to make way for ever-expanding cemetaries, and much of Liberated Terra's computer network is controlled by a rampant artificial intelligence. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a major problem, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Liberated Terra's national animal is the panther, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the pound.

Civil Rights: Very Good
Economy: Fragile
Political Freedoms: Superb

Kerensky287 05-19-2008 09:21 PM

Holy crap, people of Liberated Terra eat panthers as a delicacy? That's intense.

My nation:

The Holy Empire of Epinephrine
"Bear Cavalry. You're f***ed now."

Category: Capitalist Paradise
Civil Rights: Good
Economy: Strong
Political Freedoms: Some

The Holy Empire of Epinephrine is a tiny, pleasant nation, renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 5 million are either ruled by a small, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The small, pro-business government devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 1%. A healthy private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing, Information Technology, and Uranium Mining industries.

Crime is a serious problem. Epinephrine's national animal is the bear and its currency is the horn.

(Side note: The currency is the horn... mostly because I thought of buying things as "throwing the horns". Suits a nation called Epinephrine.)

The Holy Empire of Bigmacica

"In god we trust. Everything else is Mastercard"

Civil Rights: Excellent

Economy:Good

Political Freedoms: Superb

The Holy Empire of Bigmacica is a tiny, socially progressive nation, renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its intelligent population of 5 million enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

The medium-sized, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Religion & Spirituality. The average income tax rate is 16%. A small but healthy private sector is led by the Furniture Restoration industry, followed by Cheese Exports and Automobile Manufacturing.

Crime is a serious problem. Bigmacica's national animal is the chimera and its currency is the ram chip.

Just out of curiosity, what in the hell is a Factbook?
