Regarding Paintball in Alberta

Well, I've been a member of this forum for a few years, though I'm not really very active. I've been reading 8-bit theater for quite some time too. But what I want to talk about today is paintball in Alberta and the business that recently opened up here. I don't know if there are a lot of Albertans on this forum, but I Figure there must be one, other than me.

The business is called A.P.O.W. which stands for Alberta Paintball on Wheels. The website is http://www.apow.ca and it's a whole new take on paintball, focusing on:
Affordability,
New Game Concepts,
Mobile,
Fun!
The website just went up on friday, and I know it's kinda sub-par as far as design is concerned, but if you want to check it out and even give me some design tips I would be grateful. Also if you want to come out to our first event, use the contact form to get details about it.

Thanks!

If you want affordable paintball, why not just play airsoft?

It's not the same sport. Coming from a guy who has played both paintball and airsoft, paintball has the potential to be a sport much greater than it is now. Not to mention it's so easy to cheat in airsoft, and it's becoming illegal in Canada lately.

We use the honor system...Anyone who wouldn't follow it we don't let play.

They are similar, and airsoft is VASTLY cheaper.

I never worked out the honor system. Because a person who is willing to cheat is already fine with breaking rules of one system so they might be just as likely to break the rules of the honor system as well.

Justice you've pretty much done nothing but spam up this forum since you got here. I'm throwing you a three-day ban after which we'll see if you want to come back and maybe start doing posts that some other human being anywhere on the face of the earth would actually enjoy reading. I strongly doubt this will be the case but hope springs eternal.

Its not a different system, it just means you trust them to tell when they get hit...:sweatdrop

We don't let people who break the rules play, because they would NOT tell when they got hit. Or rather, we let them play and then all gang up on them.

(This is kinda off topic)

One problem I had with airsoft and even the honor system is given the adrenaline and even like bumping into things or what not, there's been times we don't even honestly know if we were hit or not. I guess paintballs might have duds (no idea, never done it), but the paint makes it more obvious. The blotch on your shirt/armor/whatever clears up the "Hmm, did I ding that corner or did Dave just shoot me?"

The way we play if you don't feel it, it doesn't count.
