Really Good Drinks
 

I recently realized that I am constantly making the same drinks, alcoholic or otherwise, and I need some more creativity and diversity. I looked and didn't see any threads like this that were still alive, so I figured I'd start one. Anyone have any good drinks they make, involving alcohol or not? Old favorites or new ones, if you make them well, please share your knowledge! I'm freaking sick of Bloody Marys (pretty much the only drink I can make worth a damn).

Originally I was gonna ask if anyone knew how to make an Island Paradise, but I figured why not just a drinks in general thread. But seriously, if anyone knows how to make a really good one I'd be freaking ecstatic.

Vodka and Orange Juice:

Take Vodka. Add Orange Juice. Drink!

I'm also a big fan of Long Island Iced Teas but damned if I know how to make one. It's a great "get fucked up in a hurry" drink.

If you are an anime fan, I'd suggest you find Bartender. It's a nice little 12 episode anime revolving around various mixed drinks. As a bonus, at the end of each episode they show you the ingredient list and how to make each featured drink.

In that vein, a screwdriver. Rum and orange juice. Very good.

Ginger ale + orange juice (or your favourite fruit juice) = awesome.

Actually a screwdriver is what fifth said. Dunno if rum and orange juice has a specific name but it does sound tasty.

Amaretto generally makes a good base for drinks, but you do run a risk of contracting diabetes. Amaretto with orange and pineapple juice (juices in equal parts, add as much amaretto as you want) is pretty good if a little fruity.

Also White Russian. You should know how this one goes from The Big Lebowski. If not, you haven't seen The Big Lebowski and should go do so immediately. Actually, don't go with the exact recipe from the film, do yourself the favour of using cream and slightly less vodka.

Well, a quick google search says it's called a Rum Screwdriver.

Jack (Or Captain Morgan) And Coke. Can never go wrong.

I've mixed Sobe Dragon, white grape juice, and a shot of vodka togeather. Wasn't too bad, though I was still working on the ratios.

Well, I'd reccomend some drinks, but I have a hard time remembering the ingridients of a particularly tasty one.

I think it's 4 parts cointreau, 2 parts dry gin, 2 parts pineapple sourz, and a dash of schweppes grape, and fill up with orange juice in a cup or chalice filled with ice, not cubes though, small chips.

I'm forgetting something though... ah well, you could try the following combinations:

Passoa + Midori + tropical juice= Popsicle
Cranberry juice + peppermint schnapps (I use a finnish 80 proof brand called Minttu)= alpine berries.
Kahlua + Peppermint Schnapps and milk. Add cocoa if you want to, or use dooley's.
Just taking a cup of cocoa and pouring in some Minttu makes it taste like After Eight, yum.
White wine and some sprite, tastes suprisingly good.
Bols Banana, Malibu Coconut rum, Pineapple sourz. These three make a wonderful tropical drink, fill up with whatever.

Get some interesting single-flavoured liqeurs, and mix away really. Try adding some powdered sugar or grape juice. And drink responsibly.

EDIT: I also realized that unless you want your drink to look like someone left semen in your glass, never ever, and I mean never, mix a cream-based liquer, such as Baileys Irish Cream, with anything carbonated.

You could use this to create drinks that look like sewage or such. Or create the hilarious shot: Blowjob. Use one shot glass with baileys, and the other with some lime-essence and sprite. First, pour the baileys into your mouth, do not swallow, and then pour the non-alcoholic shot in, mix around in your mouth, and then enjoy as much as possible.
