IHMN tolerates me? I feel special now. I would have to say that I have been non-regular-esque due to school, my apologies to all for that. Since we're all handing out tidbits of adivce, I have but a few:

1- Don't walk in here thinking you are teh l337, cause that is basically hanging a giant neon n00b sign right around your neck.
2- If you want to start your own rp, pretty please try something new. I can't tell you how many vampire/ninja rps I've seen that barely make it past two pages. Also don't make you title all IN CAPS WITH KEWL SPEELIING LIEK DIS. VAMPYRE RP BLOODLUSTING YO!
3- For god's sake be patient. If someone (read IHMN) doesn't like your post, don't go crazy and start cursing, you're just inviting more pain upon yourself (not to mention adding to IHMN's body count, which is not a bad thing mind you).

There you go, 3 simple things that will get you into at least my good graces right away. If any of you all ever have questions, feel free to ask me anything. I'm a more easy-going "elite."

On a side note, I'll be happy to supply yummy cookies if I get to occassionally comment on some of the newbie stuff.

Hey, at least I've got something to build on. I think I've got some kind of Compulsive Skimming Disorder or something. One of the many reasons my Biology teacher hates me. Of course, it might also have to do when she was talking about warding off unwanted people, and I whispered loudly (read: yelled) "The power of Christ compels you!". I think she might have taken that the wrong way (In other words, exactly like I wanted her to take it).

Well, I suppose I have nothing better to do than get crucified by the vets.

Heres a sample from me then. Its no masterpiece but I'm only in one RP at the moment, so its all I got:

Character

Name: Bill 'Longshot' Holliday
Race: Human
Age: 29
Class: Federation Certified Class 'A' Void-Pilot
Affiliation: Federation
Bio: Bill Holliday goes by the call-sign 'Longshot'. Renowned through-out his home sector for his exceptional flying skills, he was the perfect choice to accompany the mission. Hes flown in over 56 combat missions and it is said he made the Calmarin jump in less than 8 par-secs.

He uses a military grade helmet when flying, equipped with an enhanced laser visor and Scion rebreather.

Abilities/Skills: Refers to himself as the best pilot that ever lived. Can pilot just about anything with wheels or a thruster. He is also a pretty good shot with his custom-fitted Voron auto-pistol.

In Action

Thank ya ma'am. Holliday says to himself. He fastens the straps on his flight helmet and activates his visor. The grey-tinted visor slides over his eyes from the front of his helmet. Co-ordinates, numbers, and text begin to scroll across the inside of it.

'Longshot' attaches his Scion rebreather to his helmet, a bulky black metal piece with slits in the front. He pushes it to his mouth and speaks.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking. He crackles over the ship intercom. Talon V is 5 klicks off our starboard. We'll be entering orbit in T-minus 2 minutes. Initial readings indicate some atmospheric disturbances over Talon V. Looks like we'll be in for some chop.

He lets the com-unit built into his rebreather fall back against his shoulder, and cracks his knuckles. Swiftly he plays his hands over the ships controls, his fingers dancing in lightning quick motions as he begins preparations for orbital entry.

Vector locked...adjusting internal compensators. He says to no one in particular.

Computer, set gravity compensator in the cockpit to 95%.

Yes, Captain. The computer responds from behind him. He liked to be able to 'feel' the ship, and so he always set the gravity reduction settings lower than most pilots. It gave him an edge in maneuverability, but he had to be careful not to black-out. That’s what the rebreather was for.

He continued his pre-entry preparations. Adjusting thruster speeds...

Just a little something I've noticed. Whatever happened to good old quotation marks? I mean, putting different people's speech in different colors may be cool looking and all, but is it really necessary?

Psycho suffers from the same thing Storm does, not reading everything (Espeically post from the starter of threads).

And the colored text is just something Ranger has people do in his RP. He prefers it.

Just a tiny suggestion for when posting your rp stuff (and not to intrude on the judges but this might simplify things a bit). When you post, it might be a good idea to say which rp the stuff you are posting comes from. *shuts up now*

Posted by Krylo I resent that. It's taken me years to reach a level of crudeness in which I can, without blanching, discuss homoerotic necrophilia with a touch of tentacle rape and beastiality thrown in... all for cheap laughs. Not to mention the various other things... A little crude indeed! Also... I'm pretty nice normally... even when people are idiots...
You know what your absolutley right Krylo. I am ashamed to demote you of your proper title and placement. Let me correct myself. You are so Crude that Satan has opened a new wing of hell reserved for you and the devolpers of Cho Eniki if that makes you feel better... for the love of all that is sacred do not look that up...

So How log have the "Elite's" known each other

Well, I am one of the last ones to join in the TWC days before we fled here in the Armageddon (A turbulant time for the forum. That was before the whole thing went belly up...). Basically, over a year would be my guess for how long I've known the other TWC Elites.

StormRider 03-31-2004 12:05 AM

All right. So we make up a character bio, then a few sample posts based on this new character, right?

IHateMakingNames 03-31-2004 12:05 AM

Over a year? I joined TWC in November (Or October, I forgot), you joined in December-ish. It's been around 4-5 months (Possibly 6).

Edit - Yes, that is the idea (I think).

Oh, and Mr. Wind up birds was good.
