But yeah, it definitely helps when things at least pretend to be normal.

Still, at the very most, it's only going to stick around until the next time one of the mods feel like being silly, and immediately do so by undermining the other's authority. Eventually, it will just become a series of one-upping each other that will lead to all out chaos and deeply ingrained grudges against one another. Regular forum members will pick their own factions, with each side selecting their own territories, trying to claim a portion of the board for their own.

In the middle of the resulting blood baths over territory, who will care about what each different subforums are named?

I disagree.. I think having fun is the priority. Afterall it's the journey, not the destination right? So what if it takes a couple extra seconds to figure out where you are? It's all good in the end.
Unless you, like, post some like really crack-ass idiot comment in Discussion or something and get your ass banned. That would suck. But otherwise good times!
