I just wanted to say: I love what you've done with the place. If you make some of the new names connect better with their topics, I'd vote for leaving them this way. Much more lively.

Oh, and...Dead Poet's Society for art? That was a literature thing, man!

Professor Smarmiarty 05-30-2008 03:53 AM

I must say these names make totally no sense.

Krylo 05-30-2008 04:00 AM

They all make perfect sense.

Lackadaisy--a speak easy--general, a place where we... well, speak easy.

Mended Drum--a... rather... well, it's a bar, let's just leave it at that--works well for off topic.

Satellite of Love--the satellite that Mike and crew were stranded on for MST--MST = television show about movies--the tv/movie forum.

Joystick Heros--Joystick--video game

Sirius Cybernetics Corporation--HGttG Robotics and Computing company--Computer help. This one is the most tenuous.

Dead Poet's Society--Literature--Arts and Crafts. Pretty straight forward.

Brodie's Secret Stash--A stash of comics from Mall Rats--Books and Comics.

Playtone Records--Records--Music. Could it be any clearer?

Well, the games forum is an omnibus games forum. The current name is specifically aimed at videogames.

Thing is, there aren't many things you can say that reference tabletop and video gaming simultaneously.

I don't see how the computer one is the most tenuous when we have a Book section, yet a literature reference is used for Arts and Crafts. But, that's just me being picky~

More of a reference to, "You look like Jay from Jay and Silent Bob."

I'll send you a photo of me in my trenchcoat with my beard and my batman belt on sometime, I'll let you do some photoshop wizardry.

Shit you're right, those all make entirely too much sense.

Now I have to go pick even more esoteric names to make sure that everybody is properly confused.

If this is going to be a permanent thing, I suggest amending the rules to detail what each thread is for. Or at least changing this thread with the new names.

I disagree that you can't make the Game forum both tabletop and console-oriented.

I bring to the table:

Dungeons and Dragoons
Final Fantasy 4th Ed.

POS Industries 05-30-2008 01:24 PM

Also, what's with the new look of some of the things here? There's now a thing grey line between the post title and the main text, and the reply button has changed. I don't like any of it.

And what's this stupid "Tags" box about?
