Psycho
The scientist bowed as the people group walked in and he smiled with glee, anticipating what would surely be a resounding success. The large room housed several massive computers and padded chairs with straps, all centered around a young man who lie naked, strapped face down on a steel operating table with a large number of wires running between the computers and a helmet-like device on his head.
"Ladies and gentleman, I am glad you're here today. You are going to be a part of something grand. Something greater than yourselves. You are going to cure this man's mental illness. Soon, this will be the standard for treatment, and you will have yourselves to thank!" The man said as he gestured grandly. Each word and gesture had been calculated for effect, but all in all it all felt rather fake. "Before I seat you down and hook you up, how about you introduce yourselves to eachother. This would also be a good time to get any questions you have out of the way." |
Jack gave the scientists theatrics a tired stare, before closing his eyes and nodding slightly.
"My name is Boston." He lazily opened one eye and noticed the expectant look on the faces around him. "That's it." There was a few more moments of silence before he strode over to the closest bare wall and leant against it, folding his arms and waiting patiently for someone else to speak. |
"I have but one question. How exactly do we get out if something bad happens? I mean, I've delved into minds before, but that was when I wasn't linked with so many other people. Is there some kind of off switch on this contraption?"
Vander floated serenely a few inches off the floor, playing with a pair of gems he had extracted from his pocket. "Well?" |
"There is an off switch, but if I flipped it, it might very well sever your mind's connection to your body, so I don't think I'll be using that. If you do need to leave, just say so, I'll be watching. It will take a minute to extract you however, so be careful. I don't foresee any good coming of you guys dying in there."
|
Alice looked around the complex, laughing like hell to herself while not paying any sort of attention to the scientist. Of course, this laughter was mostly on the inside, and less out loud, despite some snickers escaping her mouth. She really grinned, and looked over at the rest of them, walking over to where they had to be seated, motioning she was ready to go.
"Can we just get inside this loons brain already? I'm getting bored of this nonsense, we can talk in the brain and get to know each other better in there anyway. Actually, that seems like the better way to do it. Get to know each other through experience rather than staring at each other going der!" She coughed slightly, calming herself down some and regaining her composure, then she brightened up her experience. "Ahem... Well, what I'm getting at is, can we go already? Its not like we need to wait for this damn thing to charge, right?" |
"Very well, take your seats." The scientist went around the room doing up the straps on everyone before going to one of the computers and typing something in.
"I don't really know what you will find in there, but isn't that what makes it fun?" What they did find when the entered the mind of the crazy man was themselves on a jagged piece of cement that looked like it had been ripped from the earth with a crooked wooden door at one end, themselves at another, and a small boy crying off to the side. |
"Well, if no one else minds, I think I'll take the first look at what we're dealing with here." Vander quipped confidently.
He surveyed the landscape around them. He took particular interest in the small boy, situated about 20 feet from their location. "Hmmmmmmmm... possible manifestation of inner child..." Vander's armor was almost completely nonexistent at the moment, consisting merely of a set of golden bracers around his wrists. The black veins of crystal, however, showed up starkly against his pale white skin. He approached the child with caution, and squatted down to his level about 10 feet away. "Hello, I'm Vander. What's your name?" |
Crovax was a quiet man and thus had been uninterested to intoducing him self to the others. "I don't talk to strangers," said the small boy as he wiped his eyes and backed away.

when Crovax heard the kids voice he was confused why was their a chid in a full grown man's mind. Perhaps a remant of bad childhood memories or the sun he never had...
