Rock Band for Wii

So my roommate's cousin just bought Rock Band for the Wii and I'm a little wary of what I hear. Apparently there is absolutely no character creation, band creation, or world tour. I know this isn't really a big deal, gameplay wise, but I really enjoyed creating my own characters and actually making a band together with my friends. I was saddened when I heard about it.

Other than that, I haven't heard much about it. Has anyone else gotten Rock Band for the Wii? How does it measure up? Any fun new songs? I heard that the Wii version is great if you haven't already played the 360 and PS3 versions.

I'm still looking forward to rocking out with my friends, so hopefully the Wii version delivers.

From what I hear, the Wii version is like the PS2 version. No Multiplayer World Tour (It's just a song list), no Character Creation, etc. Just 5 extra songs. It's not a bad thing, and it's still got a leg up on GH. Actually, come to think of it, the game's interface for Multiplayer looks a lot like the GH one...

Yeah Rock Band was designed for the higher-space capacity systems and they've had a hard time porting it.

Everyone touts how lousy the port is but really, it's not their fault. The fans said "Rock Band for my console!" and they accommodated that wish as best they could.

Not worth it. Get a 360 then Rock Band. It's a better idea.

Yeah, Band World Tour is like, the soul of the game. In fact, half of the XB360 acheivements are for BWT. That tells you how much you can do with it.

Does it at least have Downloaded songs? Because honestly, without DLC or BWT, rock band isnt rock band.

Nope.

Like I said, if you want to play Rock Band, you have to get it for 360 or PS3. There really is no alternative. You get half or less of a game if you don't.

It seems odd to me that they don't just throw in an 8 gig memory card and give you the whole damn game.

I was going to buy it, but now you people are making me doubt. I've played Rock Band for PS3 and liked it. Mind you, I only played songs. That's about it. Do I really need anything else to have fun with the game?

To a certain extent. If you just want to play songs with your friends, then it's fine. But if you want to customize a band, you're out of luck. And some people would argue that, without the downloadable content, Rock Band isn't all there. But I don't get why. There are 58 songs (63 on Wii) on Rock Band for you and your friends to unlock and play. That's a lot. And you can always buy the expansion.

Sure, if you have a 360 or PS3, get it for those. But if you don't, why spend an extra $400?

What expansion?

Anyway-- half the fun, for me, was playing twice as many songs because of DLC.

I played GH3 on the Wii and it was choppy at times, but hardly noticble.

It was ugly though. Everything was sharp on the edges, stuff that shouldn't looked polygonal, wasn't pleasant to look at at all. I didn't like it. I figure RB would be the same.
