Questions about characters (Comic or Comic based TV)
I some times read about things I have no idea about in the comic book thread I assumed I did, which annoys me. Also some things I see on TV series confuses me, since I wonder if they are really part of the comics. So I decided to ask the comic book forum people.
1) Is there really a Gorilla city in DC comics as the JL TV show has? 2) What is Pre/Post Crisis Superman? 3) How many Spidermans have there been? 4) Does that alien guy from JL TV show exist in the comics? 5) Anything you know about Silver Surfer. 6) Who is/wasthe strongest X-Men character from any of the X-Men series, and if it is not an X-Men member (Or one of the related groups) who is the strongest out of them? |
1. Yes.
2. "Crisis" refers to the 1985 DC event known as Crisis on Infinite Earths. Before Crisis, the DC continuity was absurd and stupid. There was a Legion of Superpets and Superman was functionally immortal. Post-Crisis, DC tried to make "one" coherent universe, they pretty much started everything over. Superman, for example, was considerably weaker than before. 3. There's Spider-Man and then there's Ben Riley a.k.a. The Scarlet Spider during the horrible clone saga. There's only ever really been one Spider-Man, but there have been a couple Spider-Girls and about four Spider-Women. 4. Martian Manhunter? Pretty much exactly as it is in the show. 5. Lame. 6. "Strongest" is a bit vague. I suppose technically it's Rogue because she's already got super strength and invulnerability and if you're tougher than her, she can change that quickly :) |
6) Who is/wasthe strongest X-Men character from any of the X-Men series, and if it is not an X-Men member (Or one of the related groups) who is the strongest out of them?
I can answer this one with a relative degree of certainty. Jean Grey-Summers, a.k.a. Phoenix, has telepathy second only to Professor Xavier's, and probably surpassing it by now. She also has telekinesis that can be fine-tuned down to the molecular level to change the basic makeup of matter itself, and can manipulate a nigh-unlimited amount of mass on the macroscopic level. Rogue's strength limit gives out at about 60 tons or so. Jean's limits are her will and her imagination. The only thing holding her back from completely unloading is her desire to remain human, to stay true to her morals, and her wish not to be corrupted by the power she has. She's a very admirable person as well as a powerful heroine. |
Rogue. Rogue could touch Jean Grey and gain all of those powers. She effectively, under the right conditions, can do anything that any other X-Man can do.
It's not about Rogue's strength itself, it's about her ability to become stronger. If she really wanted to lift more than sixty tons she could just give Jean a kiss, hold Juggernaut's hand, or wrap her arms around apocolypse. |
I always assumed if Rouge absorbed to many powers, eventually she would explode (Because other wise she is God, more so then even Superman, and that is just wrong).
7. What are Spawn's powers, weaknesses, and limitations? 8. When Lobo made clones of himself, and then they died, but Lobo himself can't die to due not being allowed into Heaven or Hell, how did the clones die? 9. Why do Sabertooth and Wolverine hate eachother? |
Wolverine and Sabretooth actually used to be partners, but after Wolvie got a new partner, Sabretooth killed the Newb.
also, there were rumours that Sabretooth was actually Wolverines father, but that was later revealed to be false. ps. there were 5 types of the Peter Parker Spider Man: 1.normal spidey 2.Black Spidey (with the Venom costume) 3.Cosmic Spider Man (he was given superman-like powers from the Enigma Force. he had unlimited strength, form webbing into any shape by mental power and fly) 4.4-armed Spider man (this was a Fugged up part of the comics) 5. Man-Spider ( even more Fugged up, Spider man turned into a giant Man Spider.) |
6. Prof. X. Maybe latter Phoenix could face him, if she managed to surpass him in mental prowess, but rogue could not, at least not on purpose. If she tried, he could simply control her not to.
|
We're forgetting that Rogue can't touch Jean OR the Professor if they don't want her to. Surprise would be her only advantage, and they're telepaths, which means surprise is nigh-impossible.
Besides, at this point in the comics, her powers are inactive. No touch-drain, no flight, no strength. Nada. So she can burn herself out. Jean and the Professor can, too, I suppose, but at much higher levels. |
New story!
This is a MAJOR spoiler, so if you don't want to get spoiled dont read this!
Still time to move away from this post! Getting closer to the spoiler! Still there? Good! To be precise, in the current comic here in the Netherlands(don't know about you guys in the US and UK and aaall the other countries) Rouge and most of the team is dead, kaput as in not there. Beast changed into an enemy called Sublime, Phoenix/Jean just got reborn from her egg after Beast/Sublime hatched her, Sublime "made" warriors out of DNA from the old X-Men(example: Nightcrawler with energy-eyebeams), Cassandra Nova is on the side of the Mutes, the remaining humans and Mutants joined forces to fight Sublime, to the aid of the resisting faction is E.V.A and a Sentinel(the first type). And probably more stuff, but I'm too lazy to seek that info. Nice changes, huh? This is the end of the spoiler. |
Wait when did this take place? Recently? Crap I really liked beast too.
