I never actually read the title till I view this thread, can I just say someone probably needs to be diagnosed by a psychobabble-ist.

"Pigeons of the sky" implies that there are pigeons of something else around in their world.

Soo I'm guessing they aren't planning to make a move until RM makes totally sure it's a frost dragon. Could be painful.
