Nintendo will reveal more details about the Wii MotionPlus accessory and other topics Tuesday morning at its E3 media briefing.

I suppose they had to defeat Microsoft and Sony's waggle wands somehow. I just hope that isn't the final model, cause I'd really like to be able to use it with my nunchuk.

I'm finding it hard to get excited about this. Can you stick a nunchuck on there? Is there really that much room for improvement? How much will this cost? Is this going to be included standard with Wiis/wiimotes ever? Is this going to be included standard inside wiimotes ever? Nintendo needs to show that this isn't more peripheral money-gouging.

At the same time, while they're doing functional hardware add-ons... HDD plx? :3

I'm not 100% sure but it looks like theirs a tab on the end you can pull down to plug in a nunchuck, it seems about the same size/shape. You can really see it easily on the disconnected one.

I hope this will be compatable with all past and future games, because really there are some games that could benefit from fine tuning the sensor.

Nintendo fans (myself included) are a beaten wife who enjoys/denies the pain. If you believe Nintendo isn't going to squeeze the hell out of this you're deluded.

I just noticed. That makes me glad.

I doubt it, except somewhat for Twilight Princess. The problem in most of current Wii games is that the animations weren't programmed to take advantage of 1:1 controls, so all you have is a vertical slash animation and a horizontal slash animation.

The lightsaber game may be a complete other issue. I hope it really takes advantage of this peripheral.

Oh I know new animations aren't going to be put in all games, I'm just hoping that the increased sensitivity will be useable in all games because it is far too often my motions are misread, or my attempts at fine tune aiming are just a hair off, and I can't seem to aim percisely where I want it.

Actually, now that I think about this Nintendo is more than likely to package this with a game, just like it did with the Wii Wheel and Wii Play. Maybe Punch Out!! Wii will be the Trojan horse this time?

The hype is unbearable!

Isn't that what they claimed the controller would do anyway?

I mean just so we're clear here, they are basically saying hey, our controller doesn't work very good and you have to pay to fix it, right?

Regulus Tera 07-14-2008 12:15 PM

I guess you can call this WiiFix then. :p

Cue up the infamous Penny Arcade slogan: "We went ahead and fucked some shit up while we were at it, just to let you know it was from Nintendo!"

Seriously, DS/DS Lite, RAM cartridge in the N64, GBA/SP, Game Boy/Pocket/Color...Damn it why does Miyamoto keep working for them and force me to endorse what they're doing?

Aerozord 07-14-2008 12:30 PM

you can also look at it as, they except it isn't perfect and want to make it better. Its like a graphics update for a game, you can say they are admitted it sucked to start with and did a crappy job, or say that they realize it could have been better so they are making it better. So if this becomes standerd wii accessory like the wiimote jacket, then I'm cool with it.

I just hope they thought this through. The human body is constantly shaking back and forth as it makes micro-adjustments, this is exagerated with an outstretched arm. I'd rather not play duck hunt and have to deal with my cross-hairs seizuring.
