Finally more Avatar

So they finally started airing the remaining episodes in the US. About time.

I'm not sure what to make of Zuko's personality change. Though atleast now he has some when before he was nothing but a walking pile of anger and angst

I like Zuko's personality change.

Him and Azula both can be very awkward in social situations where you're not actively trying to defeat the other person.

Zuko's character has gone downhill since Season 1. He started out as a bad guy, with pleasantly surprising depth. Season 2 he ventured into the realm of the anti-hero, which was great, albeit certainly done before.

But the first half of season 3 was just a massive missed opportunity. His betrayal in Crossroads of Destiny was a realistic move for his character, not to mention it made room for Zuko to form his own opinions, as opposed to just abandoning his country because his uncle told him to.
Instead of properly exploring that, he ended up just feeling bad and moping. Instead of having him interact with his father and get some decent character development, we got a George Lucas style romance.

Although I've found the Zuko in WAT, Firebending Masters, and The Boiling Rock to be pretty much a gimped Zuko, lacking everything that made him interesting to begin with, I get the feeling things will improve with Southern Raiders.

Also the finale looks fucking badass.

His whole drive was capturing Aang to get respect back from his father. By the second season he started to seem confused if it was really worth it and by the third season he notices that no matter what happens, Azula will screw with him. And when she doesn't, his dad will. Thus, changing sides. It all seems pretty much on-character for me.

That would have been fine and all had they spent more time on that and less time on The Breakfast Club and "you're so beautiful when you hate the world."

This title is not a pun. I disapprove.

Also, Avatar's finally starting back up? I'll have to get on that.

Yeah, 'bout that? There's the Sozin's Comet book. It has quite a lot of character development, but it's set only a bit before the final battle so it'll have to wait, I suppose. I've already read it, but only because I don't care about spoilers.

A friend o' mine tried to annoy me by saying things that would be happening in Naruto ( I kinda watched it ) about a week ago. "Asuma dies! Jiraiya too! And Orochimaru! Then he possesses Kabuto! Itachi is only an ass because he needed to make Sasuke's life a living hell so he'd get sharingan eyes and then Itachi would be able to get them from him to prevent going blind like all other sharingan users, but Sasuke kills him!". My answer was "Huh. Cool. Poor Kurenai though, with the whole fact that Asuma died and now her child won't have a dad.".

I disapprove with those saying Zuko's development has gone downhill this season. The path he took was the only possible way to get redemption.

Anyway, I'm glad Avatar is finally back. Too bad I already watched everything until The Boiling Rock.
