So far I've tried every type of disease, and every strategy I could think of (including everything suggested in this thread), and I have yet to infect Madagascar. Game is a good idea, but needs someone who knows how to make a game.
It seems pretty much 100% luck-based, which means it is not a strategy game. If I want to gamble, I'll stick with strip poker. |
First playthrough- Infected everything except for the islands (Greenland, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and fuggin Madagascar). Vaccine created and killed me.
Second playthrough- Infected everything except for Japan, Madagascar, USA, Canada, Mexico, Peru, Argentina. 2 vaccines were made. Both failed to stop me (thats right, the Vaccines can fail). But I lost cause I couldn't infect anyone else and the infecteds died. Third playthrough- everyone but Japan and Madagascar died. Then I lost cause of no more infecteds. No vaccine was ever finished that game. I hate games where I can't win.:shifty: |
I've found that hemmoraging is the best way to up your infectiveness, If you can jump that and your waterbourne/airbourne at the same time I think success should be pretty likely as far as covering the globe. I'll try it and see.
Virus is my fave so far, with parasite runner up. |
Even when you're essentially invisible, and infecting almost no one, governments shut everything down seemingly at random.
|
I've noticed. I don't see how all of europe and asia can shut down all air and sea traffic in almost no time flat. Not only that, but wouldn't countries such as Japan and Cuba die out anyway considering they can't grow enough food to support their population?
GODDAMMIT I got everywhere but Madagasgar in about 14 days. |
Woo! I finally killed the whole world with BLaaarughahrt. It's a fun game, but if someone got a hold of it who was really good at making simulations, I think it would be excellent.
I have to say the Virus is my favorite. |

Also, no transference. That's of course if you just want to beat the game. Scores are probably harder. |
Not really. Once you're in every country, pump up your infection vectors, and you'll infect everyone. Then it doesn't matter WHAT they do, they won't get rid of you. A vaccine only saves those who are not already infected.
At that point you can do whatever you want to get the various traits. |
I did find though they can slow down infection and you run the risk of dying out. Though just boost drug resistance and your golden.
Thats part of the problem though, once all the boarders close (and you missed a nation) or everyone is infected, there is no reason for the game to continue. |
All things in this thread pale in comparison to the idea of Krylo suffering death after being consumed by Manlove Fever.
