Jason followed the rest of his squad through the kitchen and to the armory, taking down Covenant troops along the way. He had spent nearly all of his pistol ammo. When he reached the armory he followed the lead of other members and snatched up a backpack and stuffed it full of clips. He also took a tripod for his sniper rifle and a small, foam pad that could be rolled up and clipped to the top of the pack. Satisfied that he had enough ammo to take out a large force of covenant, he also filled another pack with grenades, since many of his squadmates had neglected it in favor of ammunition.
When he finally reached a lifeboat almost his entire squad had already secured themselves inside. ooc:I had to play a bit of catchup, as I was indisposed over the weekend. |
Joel was waiting in the lifeboat for the others hwo started to appear one by one.

"All right!" Markez ran to a lifepod and sat himself down, strapping himself in, "Hit it!"
"Aye sir!" The tech came from the front. There was a moment pause until the ship blasted its way through an open door, and into space. The giant plasma weapons were beating in the Autumn's hull, which was still, for some reason, in tact. "Getting away to mimimal safe distance..." "Aw... We're screwed man!" A worried marine shouted through the noise. "Shut up! What are you? A marine or a mouse?" Markez beat him in voice. "Yes sir..." His nervous voice answered. "I'm a marine sir..." "Damn right you are!" The ship all of a sudden got really hot, and hit a major amout of turbulance. "Hitting the ground in five!" The pilot said. Markez counted to himself. When he hit five, the ship stopped suddenly, crashing into fresh dirt. "Everyone ok?" When he got no response, he undid his buckle and stood up, "Pile out Marines!" The door was forced open and Markez lead the troops out onto Halo. OOC: If you want to be on another pod, go for it. |
As Billy's HEV pod fell through Halo's atmosphere, he checked his equipment. The extra ammo he stored for his shotgun and pistol were intact, but he regretted not bringing along any more frag grenades. He did pick up a couple plasma grenades though off a fallen elite before leaving, so he felt confident he could handle larger groups easily.
The pod's internal tempuratures reached over 100 degrees as the HEV burned through the last remainnig layers of the upper atmosphere. Once at an altitude of 15000 feet, the pod's parachute deployed. Billy noted on his GPS map that he had fallen far off course, probably due to his lateness of departure. He also noticed his descent speed was a little fast, a fact confirmed by the hard, jolting landing of his pod on the surface of Halo. As the pod ground to a halt, Billy checked himself for injuries. Finding none, he cracked open the pod and got out. Looking around, he spotted a lifeboat with marines coming out of it. Looking through his pistol scope, he saw Lt. Rickz was leading them. Well, might as well join up with them until we can find a base. Billy thought as he started walking towards them. |
Jason climbed out of the lifepod immediately behind the Lieutenant. He checked his packages, and found that everything was intact. He put the pack full of grenades on the ground next to the lifeboat, and unslung his sniper rifle. He quickly scanned the surrounding area.
"No enemy contacts nearby, sir," he reported as he swept the landscape. He spotted the HEV pod to the east of their position. "Helljumper pod almost due east from our position, sir." He lowered the sniper rifle and looked up in the sky. Multiple pods streaked across the bright sky. He flipped his sunglasses down, and tried to track some of them, but they disappeared over the horizon. Bringing his rifle to bear again, he continually swept the area until Lt. Ricsk issued further orders. |
Billy had now reached the lifeboat's landing site. He walked up to the Leuitenant.
"Leuitenant, Sergeant Billy Wolfram here." he said saluting. "I fought alongside you on the POA. My HEV got knocked off course so I'm separted from the rest of the Helljumpers. Mind if I tag along? You're going to need an extra gun in a hostile environment like this." |
Calvin drove his Warthog into a lifeboat and launched off to the landing site. he hit the ground and hit a tree with a crash. "Dammit!" he said as he tried to drive the Warthog out. After some struggleing, he got it out of the trashed life boat and drove to the group with some marines running out after him.
|
Joel got out of the lifeboat and also immidiatly started scanning the area with his sniper riflr for hostiles, but didn't see any so he put the rifle back on his back. "Damn I hate flying" He said as he was still a little stunned by the "landing". He now reloaded his weapons and saw a HellJumper just reporting to the Liutanent and a WartHog driving towards them.
|
"No problem. Just make sure you do everything I say." Markez turned around and saw a single Warthog driving up, "I don't supposed you brought enough for the whole class?" He didn't wait for an answer, jumping into the standing gunner position. It felt good to get one of these in his hands. "Get in! Everyone else, make sure you keep up!" He leaned down to the driver so that only he could hear the order, "Make sure you drive so they can keep up. As much as I like to see them sweat, we have to try and stay together. Who the hell knows what's on this ring." He stood back up, "We'll drive until we find something that looks like shelter, then I'll try and get in touch with the captain. Move it!"
|
Billy leapt into the passenger side seat as the Warthog began to move. he drew his shotgun.
Let's see if the Covies are going to come out and play. he thought as he scanned the area with his eyes. |
