A portable hole would be cool... especially a bit one. Stick it on a wall and walk through, muahahaha.

Also, well of worlds was another item... I don't think I put that one on the list though. It's a well that connects to a random plane/dimension, but wild mages have a 50% chance of controlling where it leads... and it can lead into someone's bottomless pouch.

Dante 04-06-2004 03:34 AM

Actually, wild mages have a 50/50 chance of controlling most artifacts of randomness, like the Well of Many Words, Deck of Many Things, Wand of Wonder, etc.

Well yah.

Spirit already knows, and I'm not sure if he's told you guys, but I intend on signing up after the computer gets fixed, which should be soon (hopefully). Now.... what character should I be... hm. What do we have already? (the curse of signing up late/last.... no job classes to choose from)

IHMN - Alyan Facnobents (Bladesinger, Real)
Ecurt - Truce (Mime, Vilao)
krylo - Janus (Wild Mage, Lacaio)
Forever Zero - Dezil(General, Duques)
Biran - John (Beastmaster, Lacaio)
TheSpiritofVengeance - Urza (Pirate/Red Mage, Vilao), Magus (Red Mage, Real), Mikaliea Siteliev(Apparently Bladesinger, apparently Real))
RangerAidan - Luric (Cleric, Sacerdote)
GatoFiero - Craus (Cleric, Sacerdote)
lazy man - Koji (Ninja, Duques)

I'll probably join as a black mage... an EVIL black mage...

You might want to try Dragoon.

EDIT: Here he is...

Name: Antaeus Nybor Kenjarek (Calls himself Antaeus in polite society; he used Nybor as an alias during his magical training and created several spells bearing that name.)

Caste: Duques

Age: 49

Height/Weight:

Appearance: http://www.uncreativity.com/excel/il...o/manga-ip.jpg

He appears much younger than he actually does due to various arcane rituals and potions, but he is still a lethal battle-wizard capable of wreaking untold devastation when directing the Sorceror Corps.

Gear:

A standard assortment of magical wands and staves that he uses in lieu of his own spells, preferring to keep them for truly large battles, as well as potions brewed for him by his team of alchemists. He carries no weapons - he is a weapon.

His costume, The Mantle of Brigid, is a masterfully crafted piece of protective gear. It affords him incredible resistance to magical spells, which is quite useful given that most of his assailants are mages themselves. Against physical attackers, he has a few defensive spells bound to a chain contingency. The crown he wears, the Dragon Tear Tiara also grants him near-prescience - he cannot be surprised, although it does not increase his reaction speed, not that he needs it.

Occupation: Sorcerer-General, works with Dezil to coordinate the magical corps and the army in battle.

Class: Battle mage but with a lot of non-combat spells. Famous for the "Gentle Rebuke" series, and even more so for his weather-based spells.

Bio:

Sadistic, intelligent, and dangerous, Antaeus uses anagathics to maintain his youthful look and to deceive potential rivals into underestimating him. An arrogant child born into a Duques family, when confronted with the royalty of the Real, he swore that he would find some way to surpass them. And in the end, he did, in his own way. Antaeus enrolled in the royal wizard academy under the false name of

A prodigy in the dark arts, Antaeus quickly found that there was little that his tutors could teach him that he could not learn himself. After he graduated from the wizard academy at age 12, he proceeded to enlist himself into the Rasteria Sorcerer Corps, where he learned about battlefield magic in a sea of blood and death. His mastery of war weather was legendary even then, and subjugated nations still remember the wrath of the fire rains, lightning blizzards and thorn tornadoes he called down on them... and tremble.

Antaeus favors cold, ruthless efficiency when dealing with any situation. Common tactics involve taking to the skies with high-circle flight spells, then raining fireballs from his wands and staves onto enemy formations, or annihilating enemy commanders with disintegrate spells. He is not unfamiliar with impeding enemy progress by turning rock to mud, then reversing the process to trap them all for further disposal, nor does he hesitate to hurl himself into the midst of enemy armies, protected by powerful defensive magic, and summon high-ranking demons to his side. He is somewhat averse to fleeing obviously superior opponents, as his tremendous pride clashes with his tactical assessment of a situation, not that there are many threats powerful enough to make him flee.

Antaeus knows Dezil, and respects him for his command skills. While the Magical Corps have not been deployed for quite some time now, his men and he have trained with Dezil's troops, usually as an air-mobile assault wing. He is also aware of the existence of the mad mage Janus, who is quite possibly the only man who can surpass him in magical mastery, although the point is debatable.

EDIT: IF Spirit doesn't like it or if BM decides to join up, I'll withdraw him.

IHateMakingNames 04-06-2004 02:27 PM

You should probably get rid of your magic item all together (Since it basically says he can't be hurt).

Edit - And could I take a second magic sword?

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 02:37 PM

I've got my Shock Magic, I'm not too intimidated yet...

And I haven't seen/heard from BM in a long time, in this or any other thread, so you should be an acceptable replacement Dante.

Dante 04-06-2004 02:52 PM

What the heck is Shock magic?

And I decided to change the items, as per IHMN said. Otherwise he'll cry when he can't bully me like all the others.

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 02:56 PM

You know General Leo from FFVI? And for the short period you had him, he had that Shock skill that demolished Kefka in three hits? That my friend, is the weakest spell in the Shock Magic category, "Arc"...

If you want, I'll post a full list of what Shock Magic is in a bit.

Dante 04-06-2004 02:57 PM

No, I don't know FFVI, much to my regret.

EDIT:

Does Shock Magic mean that you do some hideously obscene thing like cosplay as Man-Faye and cause his own spleen to strangle him?
