WiiMotionPlus Demo (LiveMove)

What's important about this is that it not only recognises the movement of the controller in 3D 1:1, but that it also can accurately notice what type of weapon you're using.

I do, however, worry to how it could be implemented in 3rd Person games such as Zelda. Maybe a camera like the one in Resident Evil 4 can help overcome any difficulties with it?

P.S. If I don't see a true lightsaber game by 2010 I'll go to Japan I'll go to Nintendo and punch Iwata in the nuts. Just because.

Not that it isn't everyone's dream to punch Iwata in the nuts, but wouldn't it be LucasArts fault if we don't have that game?

Still, that didn't explain the heck happens when you hit something that can't move and that's the explanation we need...And is it just me or the sword did a few too many spins sometimes?

Well it'll work if you have a lightsaber and everyone who is fighting you is clad in thin metal. And carries swords. Cut right through them, easy.

That's why I said just because.

What happens when you press up on your D-Pad / Analog Stick, crash your character into a wall, and keep pressing up? Nothing. I imagine it will be the same here. Otherwise, the sword could rebound and you'd get a timespan where the character recovery animation takes place before you can move it again.

Oh I just remembered: Maybe it could be like the old Zelda games where hitting something knocks it back? It'd work. Except for bosses...Then you get knocked back!

Hence where we got the term, tink, to describe an attack that hits, but fails to do damage

The problem is that suddenly the arm with the wiimote is in a position that the sword couldn't have got to. Which is a problem when you're arm is being tracked 1:1.
But I trust developers to come up with some solution to this.

Is it me or is this WM+ unit smaller than previously shown? Didn't the original have this outward curve to it, whereas the one they show here is just a rectangle?

Maybe you're thinking of how it looks with the extended jacket, Zak. Lemme find the relevant image from last time and draw some circles.

Edit: There. See? It was rectangular all along.
