This game is pissing me off so much right now, I really do regret buying it. All the single player modes suck, the online is slow to get into (why the fuck if you click on a server and discover that it's already full do you then have to go back and input what kind of game you're looking for so it can search for the exact same things AGAIN??!) It literally takes about 30-40 seconds just to be told (repeatedly) that the game session is full and you have to search again. Every time.

And then when you do get into a match it lags so much you can barely move while your opponent beats the shit out of you. Oh and if your connection dies or you leave to escape the horredous lag it actually takes away your experiance points.

Not to mention the fact that for those of us who don't have the time to sit there learning every motherfukcing move set all day don't stand a chance at beating anyone anyway. I literally haven't won a match yet.

Never before have I considered abandoning a game so quickly after purchase. I'm going back to Unreal and TF2. At least they're fun even when you're losing.

I get really frustrated sometimes when playing people with a 3 bar connection. The one second of input lag just completely handicaps me. Once somebody gets the mashing going I find it incredibily hard to strike back, since GIs are pretty much nonexistant, I can't step properly, I can't even counterattack effectively since I'll just get beaten out and it's infuriating. It's basically playing with a permanent, massive handicap. Shit, i'll play on it if I have to though. I'll just have to mash on As.

4 and 5 bar connections are great however. A world of difference.

I've had lag just as bad even on 4 bars. But it's not just that though, it's the game as a whole that's annoying me. I'd been thinking for a while that I'd be dissapointed with it and I was hoping I'd end up being wrong. Turns out I was right the first time. I can't honestly say I've enjoyed any of it so far.

I don't even know what point there is to even keep playing at this point; I've unlocked all the characters I care about, the story mode, while not great back in the previous installments, was at least interesting enough to warrant a play through with each character, unlike this one, so the only things left to really unlock seem to be character creation tools and weapons and I don't really care about the former.

Add to that the crappy online stuff and this is definately the worst SC ever, only shinier.

To me complaining about a fighting game's single-play experience pretty much is like, a quarter of the stuff you should complain about. Online sucks, yes, I'll grant you that. But.

If Smash Brawl didn't have the SSE, Boss Battles, and basically got shafted on single-play it'd still be my favorite game.

I wish people online would use someone other the The Apprentice. Its not fun fighting him 12 times in a row.

So you've just admitted that the single-play sucks (due to shitty, even for a fighting game, story mode) and multi-play sucks (due to lag)... I'm not seeing the defense of SCIV here.

I honestly havent found it that laggy. Ive played about 30-35 matches, and so far, only like 3 or 4 were lagging to the point of being unplayable. 4 bars or higher is very smooth.

The defense is that fighting games are inherently about fighting with real people. Invite over a few friends and pass it around with a few beers and see how much you hate it then. Like I said, Brawl is one of my favorite games just because of the fighting engine itself. If they had taken out all the single play stuff and stuck you with two single play options, it'd still be a favorite of mine.

And yeah, I've had nothing but just-laggy-enough to let Maxi get started and never stop. Online just isn't situated for Rock.

I've grown more sick of black businessmen with purple afros and nunchuks.

Wow, maybe the online play doesn't suck as bad as I thought. It has the split-second latency that makes GI and reflexive blocking impossible, but I just found a great host. I take back what I said about online.

EDIT for below: Thankfully, no Sephiroths.

Uhh... Wow?
