Politics makes strange bedfellows

John McCain is such a douche that he has made Paris Hilton look appealing by comparison.

For reference, the ad that prompted the above response.

Wow. Just wow. That was actually, like, good.

McCain, you just got served. Next time ask permission.

Wait..... Did Obama just steal Paris Hilton's energy plan?

Wyndon 08-06-2008 12:05 PM

Hahahahahaha LMAO!!!! AMAZING!!

The strange thing is I think I'd totally vote for her.

Edit: McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds' response: "It sounds like Paris Hilton supports John McCain's 'all of the above' approach to America’s energy crisis -- including both alternatives and drilling. Paris Hilton might not be as big a celebrity as Barack Obama, but she obviously has a better energy plan."

McCain's Energy Crisis plan was all of the above? I thought it was "I'm a cocaine addict with a problem. I'm out of Cocaine." Or something to that effect.

POS Industries 08-06-2008 01:48 PM

Well, both Obama and McCain more or less had "All of the above" approaches to their energy plans, it's just that McCain favors more focus on offshore drilling and nuclear development while Obama prefers conservation of current resources while developing of new fuel technologies. The difference in opinion basically just boils down to what gets more money than the other.

I know we're hard up for decent candidates, but are you on CRACK?

I'd vote for Hilary before I'd vote for Paris, even though neither of them are really in touch with what it's like for those of us who don't have six- and seven-figure incomes.

As for the McCain ad, it was stupid, but hey, at least it gave John Stewart and Stephen Colbert some great material to work with.

And speaking of political commentary, I think I'm going to come up with a new tabletop game called Election: The Campaigning. It will have cards such as The Manchurian Candidate Card, the Race Card, the Gender Card, the VFW Card, and so forth. (Although there's most likely something like that out there already.)

Gorefiend 08-06-2008 02:06 PM

I'm glad it's not just me thinking her plan's sensible. But I think a little of the world broke just now.

And, I'm pretty sure McCain's plan was always "MORE OIL!!! DRILL FOR IT!!!!" He's just changing gears to tack left a bit. And I don't doubt for a second that the "strict environmental oversight" that Paris suggested wouldn't happen in a million years under McCain. MAYBE I'd trust Obama, if he can Convince congress to get funding back to the agencies that would do the oversight.

Hey, at the very least the people telling her what to say seem to have some good ideas, and they're the ones that really run the country anyway.
