Weee... off I go to certain death. Nevertheless, should be interesting. My character hasn't had one opportunity to use any sort of skill yet. Must... sneak...

GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN! Besides, it's not time for you yet... I SAID I'd prepare the world for you, so let me do it!

No, just to total organ implosion.

He's not evil enough. krylo brought this upon himself. Repent, krylo, REPENT!

Truce 04-06-2004 05:55 PM

What makes you think Krylo would have anything to repent? I mean, despite his comments of bestiality, cannibalism, sacrificing, and etc...

Wait, let me rephrase that. Is there anyway Krylo COULD repent?

Squishy Cheeks 04-06-2004 06:02 PM

I thought I was the priest.

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 06:04 PM

Sometimes you gotta do with what you got. Dante spoke loud enough, no one was going to argue with him...

Squishy Cheeks 04-06-2004 06:05 PM

I'll argue, but that's just cause I love to argue.

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 07:40 PM

So does no one want to return to the house? Or discuss possible options? Plan their next move? Anything?!

Krylo 04-06-2004 07:42 PM

Frankie wants to learn how to use '+3|-| 1337 |\/|46!( 5|<!112'... so that's what he's doing.

I think the others should go dig up that guy's body though. If 'Thu Thu' wants it there, the body should be moved.

lazy man 04-06-2004 07:44 PM

Paul will be reading the diaries in detail so he knows what went on in there, finding the spell while reading in the process. Krylo, meanwhile, will be attempting to eat my face.

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 07:45 PM

It will take him 1 day to read the book, and one week to learn the spell, so you will be out of action for a while...

Krylo 04-06-2004 07:46 PM

Fine with me. And someone mention flamethrower. I wanna make one inbetween missions. I'll just alter the chemical mix...

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 07:48 PM

It can be a random newspaper article or something, but then you will need to look up blueprints, then actually build it, and you will need to give it to a strong memeber of the party and hope it doesn't blow up...

Krylo 04-06-2004 07:53 PM

Frankie: "Hey Tommy! Look what I made you! It's a flame thrower!"
Tommy: "Hey thanks! This will be GREAT against those zombies!"
Frankie: "Exactly... ohandIhaven'ttestedityetanditwillprobablyexplode have fun!"
Tommy: "...What?"
Frankie: "Nothing! Go enjoy yourself with your new toy!"

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 09:12 PM

Who ever said Corbitt was buried...

Yeah, I'm bored and the RP is slowing to a stop, so I'm just throwing out hints now...

REPOST: Alright, is the RP officially dead by now?

IHateMakingNames 04-06-2004 09:15 PM

If you want it to die so much just let it die. Things are going slow recently (I think most people are getting their spring breaks either now or in them).

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 09:21 PM

I don't want it to die, but it keeps slowing way down, and fewer and fewer people are becoming reguler posters. I get m spring break next week, but because of family schedules, we aren't all on the same one, so I will spend a week at home. At least I'll be out of school, and I'll start my break on Friday...

It just seems that not much is happening, even when a bunch of people are online, so I was wondering if everyone sort of gave up on getting it going.

Truce 04-06-2004 09:27 PM

*Sigh* Assuming that I'm not ignored.

If it dies, it dies. However, it isn't "officially" dead until the players stop posting almost completely, or until you give up interest. Normally, it is a combination of the two.

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 09:34 PM

I already posted this before you did...

But alright, it seems there is some interest still. Anyway, you current mission is to find whatever is causing the disturbances, and to stop it. You won't have enough time to learn any spells to use against it, so don't worry about that. Just focus on everything you already learned, and deduce where the foe must be. Once you find it, then you can figure out how to kill it...

Spells and such will come after the mission ends.

I'm still interested, I'm just not sure where to jump in, since I've missed a bit. ^^;;

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 09:48 PM

Well, you don't need to know a ton. Basically, just follow the others leads and you should be safe enough, since they all know what you are facing to a degree. You will probably pick up the rest as you go along, and right now they are all at the mansion.

IHateMakingNames 04-06-2004 09:49 PM

Basically, the vets are either lying around or reading book/bothering book reader, while the newbies are scared and/or trying to act tough.

Krylo 04-06-2004 09:55 PM

FZ... what IS in the book about the beast? Seeming as Frankie just read through the ritual and Henry is asking about it.

CelesJessa 04-06-2004 09:58 PM

Did Clara go to investigate with them, or did she stay behind? If she stayed behind, she wouldn't know exactly what they saw, but she could probably imagine. (but it might be better, since then I wouldn't have to pretend like I was there. ^^;; )

IHateMakingNames 04-06-2004 09:59 PM

She was at the mansion the entire time, or you can say she went to sing or something for money. She did not go on any investigations though.

Krylo 04-06-2004 11:21 PM

You know what would make this thing move faster? If FZ would answer my question... so Frankie could answer Henry's... and then we could all go to the house. 'Cept Dave, because Dave's a coward.

IHateMakingNames 04-06-2004 11:22 PM

He isn't a coward, he is moping. There's a difference. Coward means he would be in the corner hugging his knees while crying. He instead is just sitting in his chair pissed that he now knows of all these ghost stories he's heard can be true and he was recently covered in blood.

Edit - But on missions he will always be in the middle of the group and never go anywhere first.

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 11:27 PM

The "Beast from Another World" is a one shot spell. It summons the beast in question, and once the spell is learned you summon the beast, attempt to bind it, then if you succeed in binding it, you can give it one command before it disappears. A command like, "Attack this guy", or "Defend this person for the next hour." It has to be a concrete command, and if it is a general command, it has a one hour time limit.

If you want, full stats will be up either tonight or tomarrow.

Or do you mean Thu Thu, the One Who Waits in the Dark? I'm not sure 100% what you are looking for...

IHateMakingNames 04-06-2004 11:28 PM

What happens if you fail to bind it?

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 11:30 PM

It specifically attacks the caster, the one that forced it there in the first place, and it kills him or her and leaves, since it didn't want to be there in the first place...

Krylo 04-06-2004 11:30 PM

I meant the summoned beast... I just want to know what it would say in the book about it.

And I'd assume if you fail to bind it it kills you. Kills you dead and gorges itself on your blood.

Edit: As always, I'm right.

IHateMakingNames 04-06-2004 11:31 PM

By leaves, do you mean stays in our world and goes somewhere else, or leaves back to it's world?

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 11:32 PM

It goes back to wherever it came from. If it is a creature from another dimension and it can, it returns to it's own dimension. If it is a creature that walks the earth (Some monsters can only be summoned in very specific circumstances), then it just leaves the group and goes back to whatever it was doing before it was summoned. Basically, mosnters don't like to be pushed around, and they go back to doing their own thing unless forced.

Krylo 04-06-2004 11:33 PM

Also... I have a question, that has little relevance on anything:

Let's say Cthulu invades the world... and one of us knows Hastur's song. Now let's say that person manages to survive at first and train about 100 other people in how to cast the spell... now the next time they're able to cast the spell, would it be plausible that they pop Cthulu like a zit being hit by that many Hastur's songs at once?

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 11:34 PM

Hastur's song doesn't overlap. Every time it is cast, the second one overlaps the first and negates it. Only one person can cast it at a time, thus an easy way to defend against it is if one person learns it and a cultists uses it, the person can just use it to counter the cultist.

Krylo 04-06-2004 11:37 PM

Awww... too bad. I'd love to see something as big as cthulu explode like that...

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 11:38 PM

Cthulhu is over 100 stories tall, he could easily smash a whole army of people singing Hastur's Song anway...

Anymore Call rleated questions? The description of the beast in question is coming up... Oh, and krylo, you gain +1 Cthulhu Mythos point for reading the diary.

IHateMakingNames 04-06-2004 11:40 PM

What if you did rapid fore Hastur songs? (Not sure if technology for this is available yet though) You record some one singing the song, then you make many copies and fast forward through one, then when its done start another, and so on.

Krylo 04-06-2004 11:41 PM

True, but if they all hit him with it at once and they didn't overlap, I doubt he'd survive long enough. He has something like 160 hps... and con in the 50s or some such? And it does about 3 damage per round... and about 3 con damage every 4 rounds...

Ok, so we'd need 300-400 casters.

Forever Zero 04-06-2004 11:42 PM

It is sung contantly until the target is dead, the caster runs out of HP, the caster goes insane, or the caster dies, so you don't need to record it rapid fire. As long as the song is sung (And it isn't a song in the sense of lyrics or a specific length of time you sing it, it is just sung in a special langauge of Hastur), it is having an effect on the desired target.

EDIT: Big C has 110 CON...

TheSpiritOfVengance 04-07-2004 12:03 AM

I will study the Mythos book.

Forever Zero 04-07-2004 12:05 AM

The book reads on the thing that is summoned, and I quote:

"As the spell was cast, it seemed motes of light gathered before my eyes. I was accustomed to the dark after days of study in my lab, and the sight was blinding. When it faded, a horrible thing stood before me. Shuffling towards me in the darkness was the gigantic, blasphemous form of a thing not fully ape and not fully insect. It's hide hung loosly on it's frame, and its rugose, dead-eyed rudiment of a head swayed drunkenly from side to side. It's forepaws were extended, with talons spread wide, and its whole body was taut with murderous malignity despite its utter lack of facial description."

TheSpiritOfVengance 04-07-2004 12:33 AM

Yep. That can cause a failed insanity check right there.

Krylo 04-07-2004 12:38 AM

Maybe if you're a wuss. Frankie's a rock, however... he only had temporary insanity the one time David flew through the attic door and he first noticed that, "hey... the occult does exist, and it just killed that guy." He didn't even freak out when the zombie started eating him.

Forever Zero 04-07-2004 12:45 AM

That was a fluke and everyone knows it... I should have auto applied failed sanity just because of the situation...

Krylo 04-07-2004 12:57 AM

Awww... but it was a cool fluke.

TheSpiritOfVengance 04-07-2004 01:49 AM

My guy is no little shrimp, well he is tiny and kind of wimpy, but I am sure he could pas a lot of sanity tests. However Since he is reading the Mythos I cannot really expect much...

Squishy Cheeks 04-07-2004 08:23 PM

Are we continueing this RP or what?

Krylo 04-07-2004 08:24 PM

I thought so... but no one is replying to Frankie's last comment. But then... no one did much of anything until just a little while ago. Today was/is really super slow for some reason.

Darth SS 04-07-2004 09:05 PM

Have I missed anything relevant and/or important?

Squishy Cheeks 04-07-2004 10:43 PM

Well now I replied and now I wait yet again.

Krylo 04-07-2004 10:45 PM

I was kind of hoping someone other than us would reply... meh.

Truce 04-08-2004 12:14 AM

*Shrug* Amazingly enough, I am spending less and less time with my computer and more and more time outside enjoying company.

Oh well. *Response*

If noone else says anything soon (like...say a day), can we just move along with the actions? I know what I'm doing.

Forever Zero 04-11-2004 11:40 PM

Alright, I officially proclaim this RP dead.

Now, to resolve the scenario.

Corbitts was performing occult experiments with the help of the Cult he was in. He rose to a high position, and eventually successfully had a Life "Immortality" spell cast on him. He will live forever if left alone, but he is mortal and can be killed. However, his body still aged in his immortality, so when he became old he faked his death and was buried underneath his house. There he could keep practicing his magic and become more powerful until one day he could leave as a powerful sorcerer and "live" again. Anyone that stayed in the house was a potential threat, so he killed them or drove them insane. You did not see it since none of you had the Spot Hidden rolls to succeed, but he has a magic knife he can control, that he can make fly around and stab who he wishes. Also , he has a dominate mind spell, so if you became a threat, he could possess one of you to try and kill the others. Also, as you saw, he had a special control over his own room, and could perform the tricks you saw. He could also move around his bed at will, and he would try to lure one of you to the window and bash you out of it. It would most likely have killed an investigator if you fell for it.

The scenario would have ended when you went to the basement, and realized that he was behind the wooden wall. You would have needed too break through it, kill the rats in the wall he controlled (One is a joke, but a small army of them counts as an enemy) then gotten into his secret burial chamber. You would find his collection of occult books he was studying, then he would most likely have risen up and attacked. He was mortal, but cast a spell on himself to make his skin as hard a srock, and would have been difficult to break through. He would cast Summon/Bind Dimensional Shambler (The Beast from the Beyond spell you saw, this is the technical name), and try to kill you with his bare hands and his magic knife. After taking about 30 HP of damage, difficul with his Flesh Ward spell that made his skin so tough, he would have taken too much damage to keep functioning and keep his immortality spell going, and would dissolve into dust.

Dr DR 04-12-2004 04:44 AM

Nifty.

RIP RP.

Squishy Cheeks 04-12-2004 07:15 AM

Noooooooooooooooooooooo!
