The olympics, drinking and you

The olympics are upon us and what better way to celebrate than a speight of drinking games?

Much favoured by our flat, and currentely under way ,is the guess the next country game. You only get one guess and fastest to guess the next country out doesn't have to drink.
The Chinese alphabet has completely buggered us this time around and made us drink lots.

Others favoured include weighted bets, where we bet on events and give each others seconds/minutes/points. It's real good when we know nothing about the event so guess based on country.

Alternate game is find the hottest competitor. You only get one nominate and you have to nominate them when they on the screen. Do you go early and be sure of getting one or hold out for a stunner?

The problem with drinking games is that, inevitably, everyone ends up attempting to loose intentionally.

Some people would not identify this issue as a 'problem'.

Says you. You may start out drinking intentionally, but when you're so wasted you can't even sit, and you have to take a mixed shot of Jose and 151, you feel the pain.

That's why the olympics are great. Because the game is constantly going, whenever at least 2 of us are home and not doing any work.
Such strategies would destroy any person quickly.

Which is kind of the crux of the problem, esspecially in the last few rounds whe you rezlie that you really didn't need to intentionally take those first 6 shots.

So... the goal of drinking games is ... NOT to drink?

Why did you THINK you don't have to drink when you win?

Yeah, and the DD/guy that drives his friends to the hospital for alcohol poisoning plays an alternate game: Drink a shot everytime those drummers were out of sync. You'd be sober as hell.

Damn impressive!

Watch the first round/quarter/heat/whatever of each event, paying attention to what the announcers are saying. Each drinker chooses two keywords. The rest of the match, whenever a keyword is said, the person who chose that keyword makes another person drink.

Countries are obviously good, America/American being gold in the States. Then you've got proper names, general (training, drive, will), then event specific (fouls, form, parry), then you're crazy announcer category which is basically when you determine a phrase the announcer has clung to for some insane reason (trapezoid, I predict, will be a devastator during basketball).
