Don't touch that dial

For all you people out there who hate talk radio and have heard about the new liberal station, here's a nice review by Bill O'Reilly of both the conservative and liberal sides of it. I like the rap lyrics he made up. And he actually makes fun of conservative talkers.

i tuned into Air America today. Its signal sucks out here, but it was audible.

O'Franken was saying how the case COULD have been made that we should have gone into Iraq for humanitarian reasons, or that the case COULD have made that Iraq was in violation of UN sanctions, but they weren't.

'O'Franken' is full of shit, tho. Those cases WERE made. He just forgot about them (apparently).

the only other thing i heard was some chick in the evening who was listing all four of the radio stations Air America was on, as well as offering excuses as to why their streaming audio wasn't working at the time.

oooh yeah. and there was some other chick saying how only violence is possible if the gap between rich and poor kept getting bigger. She said democracy was going to come to an end, or some such.

LOL :D

His name isn't even O'Franken, he's just making fun of the O'Reilly Factor.

Sounds like this chick is a commie pinko. Which still results in violence.

Anyway, I liked that article. Do we really need an all-Liberal station? I'm a republican though, so I'm biased. I just try to find international stations on my short-wave radio to see what other countrys think, that is if they have an english station.

DarthZeth 04-06-2004 02:38 PM

i know, Hammy. its just more amusing to call him O'Franken :D

or at least has never had any sort of formal education in economics, which I notice most proclaimed communists and Socialists haven't.

I typically oppose democrats due to their socialist opinions on economics, so I don't plan on listening in on this station.

the only radio I listen to is Aaron Russo. Pity he's hard to get on the east coast.

too bad that its displacing a bunch of minority stations

heard Randi Rhodes got in a screaming match with Nader
though that article seems to like Janeane Garofalo. I just dont buy her claims that everyone she's against is racist and/or xenophobic.

ahahah, Dude, i was jsut listenign to Air America inteh car not 5 minutes ago. Apperntly the NYC station was a black station, and the host (who was on under the original station name after 12 midnight) seemed fairly annoyed that Air America took it over.

Also, another topic of conversation that i heard in my sporadic listenings was the fear that George Bush would cancel the elections this year. And O'Franken challenged Rush Limbaughs assertain that Democrats criticize Bushmore then they criticize terrorists by.... criticizing Bush. Its kind of amussing how the entire segment about Rush's comment that Democrats don't criticize terrorists went off without them criticizing terrorists. kind of sad, but kind of amusing.

oh well. Might as well let them open their mouths and remove all doubt. Any group who's vaunted savior is a comedian has got to be asking to fall on their face.

Air America was almost a good idea, but when I listen to it, all I hear is ranting. Not the way to go about it. I heard a guy talking about republicans and he said the word 'republican,' a lady interrupted and started ranting about how 'they're not republicans, they're bigots, they're the same people who would've voted for segregation, would've opposed woman's rights..." etc. While it may be half-true, can anyone talk like this and expect to be taken seriously? If you went into a debate and said, "the bigots made a new policy," you would be laughed out of the room.

But once again, O'Reilly acting all smug even though he's a complete moron. Wow, when are they going to cancel him? Oh yeah, never, he's Bill O'Reilly. Wonder when Maddox's package will arrive...?

I've also heard this station, and as a democrat, I gotta say, it sucks. These guys can use much better arguments against conservatives, but all they do is rant and rhetoric themselves. I don't consider myself way liberal, more as a conservative democrat. But these guys are really giving us a bad name. I wish someone would use real arguments with good facts backing them up.
