Epic failures in the gaming industry

So a comment in another thread caused me to look up a game called Daikatana. Basically, the development team got shafted repeatedly, and the game was delayed for three years but advertised very aggressively. It came out and sucked so bad that you can actually attach copies of it to a hose for use as a vacuum.

The long version of this train wreck can be seen here.

So what other monumental failures have there been over the years?

While the game itself was good, I think players were made to expect 3 times what they actually got with Brawl. Like online that functions.

Well, first I'd like to present the epic failure that is this, The Duke Nukem Forever list. Note that the list may not have been updated in some time.

Secondly I present the biggest fail in gaming history, with the game that almost brought down the industry.

I dare you all to beat those two.

Those are the most commonly known failures.

Also, 599 US dollars.

I can top that...

Read and weep.

And I don't like Fox News but they got to the weirdness of this one. And I REMEMBER this game system coming out and being in the mall!

Just so you can see the Ferrari...

This. Particularly this passage here:

The game was canceled at the closed beta stage, as installing the game crashed Windows indefinitely. Konami even had to send out 500GB external hard drives to beta users so that they could back up files while reinstalling their broken operating systems.
