Fire Emblem RP Interest Thread
Okay, an idea for the ages and since I haven't seen one of NPF before. Who knows, maybe I have, but here goes. I actually came up with an idea for a Fire Emblem based RP. Thought to put in use of any class from Fire Emblem (2003) for the GBA all the way to Radiant Dawn, probably leaving third tier classes for much much later. Even the three in Sacred Stones, such as Journeyman, Recruit and Pupil would even before usable. They would be cut down, much like like in the games, but their overall growth is usually incredible.
Though I wanted to know, which universe would be more interesting to play in: 1. Fire Emblem (GBA, 2003) 2. Sacred Stones 3. Path of Radiance (Either Pre or Post Ashnard, post would be during the cleanup, like maybe a month after the end of PoR.) 3b. Radiant Dawn (Same as above, but the years after Ashnard or after the Radiant Dawn storyline) Not to mention we would not have the canon characters, as usual. Anyone Interested? |
You had me at "Fire Emblem".
Tellius has always been my favorite world. FE7 had rather marginal exposure for the city states that weren't Bern or Lycia, and FE8 was just rather boring on the whole. Plus - Catgirls! But yeah, either of the Tellius scenarios is fine by me. |
Yes! I am so very interested.
I'm a big fan of Elibe (FE7) myself, but I don't mind either way. Also, I say no to having the cannon characters, except in a vague non-plot related way. Also, I want to know how you plan on dealing with class ups. Knight: "Hey guys look! I just found this bitching crest! *Lightning Strikes* General: "Where the hell did all this armor come from?!" |
Interested, I haven't done an RP here for a little while.
And as if my out of date avatar doesn't tell you, I like this game. As for world...my vote goes to Tellius, preferably after the whole Radiant Dawn thing. But any of the worlds...wouldn't be too bad. |
To be a little admitting, I know more about the GBA game continents then about Tellius. Though the tally has come in with Tellius. So, with that, I'll do a little research on Wiki and hope for the best.Though I think with the Radiant games, I'll do post Ashnard with rebels and such.
Loyal - Yes, Catgirls... Lithe... secretskull - Yeah, if anything they might only appear for... 2 seconds at most. Maybe even a wave to one of the characters or the entire group. Though class change I think should be more handled along the lines of what the Radiant games did. Hit twenty and auto class change. Though with this... I'll keep tabs and maybe go for 10 or something. There will be no class stats and such, since I expect most people here will KNOW how their classes are like. Like I hope someone who plays a knight won't act like they can run the mile and do cartwheels in the damn thing. |
FE7! It was too easy, though, however much I loved it. Even Hector Hard mode wasn't too hard. You just need to do Lyn's Hard beforehand for the levelups. 'Course, I don't play the game how you're supposed to. Using almost only magic classes, not using units that start out as an evolved class, etc.
Secondary vote to Path of Radiance world. I've only played some of Path of Radiance, up until I got bored with it. Shaman/Druid or Cat Laguz...? ...Shaman Cat Laguz? =>_>= Quote:

It might not be a bad idea to go with whichever world the GM knows most about. Since, well, he is the GM.
Either way, not that I'm really thinking of taking the class, but any thoughts on how Dancers and Bards will work? And I guess I’ll ask about Lords. Will all Main Character Classes (Lords, Rulers, Light Mage/Sage/Priestess) be off limits? |
Wizardcat - Well, if you remember, laguz didn't have any classes besides what animal forms they had. So, it's that or do a human(Beorc) character with a class. Well, my point is that certain classes will be more realistic. Like if you're not wearing armor and that sword is coming at you, you have no defense stat to block it. So it's going to REALLY hurt.
TM - Well, dancers and bards could work in a sense. Maybe if I allowed some sense of protection like daggers so they're not canon fodder. As for Lords, everyone in all technicality will be a Lord, since you'll be the main characters for this. As for the mains, Light Mage in it's own is basically a monk and I'm tossing in all the other classes from the games. And yes, Paladins will be able to wield axes like they always have. Sacred Stones stole that away from me. Lord won't be so much of a class as it will be a title. Rulers will be off limits since well, this won't be long after Ashnard kicked the bucket so people will stay as they are. Which in technicality means no contact with the mains... like... at all. To address races, I was thinking of pouring in Manakete as well. I'm not too sure about it, but I figured since all the classes were going to be in it, that all the races should be too. If there's a problem with this, I'll strike it out. Though if anyone cares to take the race, be prepared to stick with your dragonstone, no armor, weakness to arrows and no class up. I also mulled over laguz with classes. I mean, if you can... REALLY wow me with a reason WHY they would prefer to do that over their animal form, then I'll let you have it. |

But I'm imagining a shaman/druid would be strudier than another type of spellcaster, as reflected by their higher than average (for a spellcaster) HP and Def stats. Correct? Are magician still limited to the tomes they wield? Not even smaller spells without? And for the no armor = no Def, does that apply to everything, like Laguz? Human and animal forms? As I recall, they were pretty sturdy when it came to taking attacks, and the high HP they tended to come with helped. My only personal experience with Laguz on my side, though, was Lethe and Mordecai. I assume it'd vary from type of Laguz: Cat, Tiger, Raven, Hawk, Red Dragon, White Dragon... Am I missing any? |

Well, what I mean is, this would be more freeform in the sense of it's more realistic. As in, in real life if you took a sword blow to the chest, it's either lights out or a bad chest wound. As I said, we're not working with stats. Lion, Heron and Black Dragon. Though those were mainly royal lineage. If there are any problems... honestly I'm trying to accommodate as many things as I can into this without bogging it down. I'm also considering multiclassing. Though you'll pretty much be a Jack of all trades, master of none. |
