Marvel Movies What if? - Golden Age Captain America film

Last night I was thinking what if They could make a World War II era Captain America/Avenger movie. Then I realized that Hollywood nowadays really doesn't have an actor that can really hold the larger than life figure of Captain America. America nowadays are into the Japaneseish man-boy types.

Either way a made short list of actors that I would cast if I had the choice.

Captain America - Kiefer Sutherland (if he gained weigh)
Bucky - Tom Cruise (if he shaves)
Namor - Vladimir Kulich (if he loses weigh)
Human Touch (android) - Vin Diesel
Red Skull - TBA (possibly) James Wood's voice in German

What do you think? Keep in mind I was thinking about a movie as serious and as deep as "Flags of our Fathers" (2006).

First of all Captain America could only be played by Dolph Lundgren (with a simulated accent).
Golden Age Captain America was ridiculously propagandish and made fun of all the silly germans. Is this aspect going to be kept?

Leo DiCaprio is at the top of Marvel's list.

Brad Pitt is number 2.

You guys can moan all you want, but YES!

You know, this could be the plot of Captain America: The First Avenger.

Well, good to know they're aiming high for Bucky.

I'd rather see some young no name as Bucky.

Not to be a sidekick but some wet behind the ears recruit.

I don't know about Lundgren. I can't look at his picture with out laughing in an embarrassing way

and an accent really doesn't matter, if they can give De Niro a southern accent in Cape Fear, anything could happen, I'm looking for looks and attitude without going for a cheap laugh.

I said before I was going for a Flags of Our Father's look. The main idea is to be Iconoclast and break through all those propagandist and find a gritty realistic view. So, no I wouldn't go for the cheap laugh.

I agree, Bucky is probably the easiest in all of the film to cast. Pretty much any young buck from Hollywood could fill his tiny, tiny boots. The reason I chose Tom Cruise was because he's like 5' 6".

Aaron Eckhart = Cap. Hell look at everything in DK before he turns into Two-Face. He's pretty much playing Captain America: District Attorney.

You can argue all you like but if this motherfucker

gave you the "now let's go save the day - FOR AMERICA" speech, you'd fucking go save the day for America.

Yes Barrelpants, even you.

EVILNess 08-24-2008 11:08 PM

I'd save the day.

FOR AMERICA.
