Um, why, exactly?

I am pretty sure downloading is a civil offense as it's not theft; it's copyright infringement. So there'd be no threat of jail time, only a lawsuit. It becomes a criminal offense, to the best of my knowledge, when it starts involving distribution of actual physical copies like in those blessed bootleg DVD markets in China. And actually, downloading isn't the offense; uploading is I'm pretty sure.

So, RIAA, you're trying to scare a bunch of kids with a malarkey comic book. Does that make you feel like a big man?

Edit: And to think of it, the biggest joke of that whole thing is the little old Grandma actually receiving judgment in an imminent domain case, and in my opinion is a far more pressing problem for the nation than some record executive not being able to take a dump in a golden toilet.

This reminds me of those comics that made it look like playing D&D would make you a horrible satanist who sacrificed puppies.

Or Reefer Madness. This is going to be laughed at even harder decades later.

Also, o would like to point out that no court would EVER take serisouly a lawyer with that stupid moustache. Blonde hair and pitch black thin moustache? Dude looks like a douche!

As for modern propoganda, I've got a real good one. I recently got put into this new homeschool program. Its a christian homeschool, and for the most part it works like one. Its pretty much just like normal homeschool except that the Science book mentions intelligent design a little bit and some stuff like that. EXCEPT FOR THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT CLASS. I have seen more religious propoganda in that book than anywhere else in my life. Now, to get things straight, I am also in a seminary class and Im fine with that, because Seminary is a religious education class and not a religious brainwash you with propoganda class. This book for american government, called "American Government from a Christia Perspective" had an entire chapter about how God hand made america and screw everyone else in the world. Then there was the chapter on communism. Did you guys know that communism is a secret international organization that corrupts governments one by one in a ploy for world domination?

I can't wait till I get to the part on the cold war where they tell me that Moses descended from heaven to beat up Joseph Stalin.

Really, I wonder if they know that the Cold War is over.
