Games to Preorder
 

Some background
I work in a Blockbuster Video store, and we have a weeklygoal, also known as "You'd better get 10 of them a week or get written up," unfortunately we have a rather small pre-sale list.

This list consists mainly of the main titles coming out, and what we do have can be best described as frat boy titles. Force Unleashed, Mercenaries, Gears of Wart 2 are a few examples.

However, I found out today that I can look up part codes and pre-order anything in the computer and we get credit, and it ensures that the store gets some to satisfy pre-orders.

Long story short, I get a 10% discount on games (20% on movies, food and merchandise. 0% on systems.:() and I have this list of games I was going to look for anyway, but considering I live kinda in the sticks and some of the stuff will probably be kinda difficult to find around here I have decided to try pre-order them to get my discount and a guaranteed copy.

Here is what I have so far on the list:

Sonic Chronicles: Dark Brotherhood
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Chrono Trigger
Spore
Dragon Quest 4

PS2
Mana Khemia

Keep in mind I cannot pre-order any PC games, and I don't own a 360 or PS3. That basically limits me to PS2 and the DS. Any suggestions?

First of all, bad. Bad! Take Sonic Chronicles: Dark Brotherhood off of there. There hasn't been a good Sonic game in over a decade. This will not change that fact.

Some genre preferences would be nice. Partial details can be drawn from the list you have, but those details may be incomplete.

First off, screw you on that Sonic comment. The hand held Sonics are fun, and its Bioware. Come on.

Anyway...

Anything RPG is usually good. SRPGs make me cry tears of joy. Just avoid scaled down versions of big name titles. Just make some suggestions, I'll look em up and see if their my style or not.

I still can't believe there is going to be a NDS version of Force Unleashed.

If that's the best defense the game has, then it does not actually bode well for the game.

Anyway, for the RPGs, you pretty much got it covered. Maybe Luminous Arc 2 for the DS. Maybe Dokapon Kingdom for the PS2 if you want some board game in your RPG.

I'm going to wait until Sonic Chronicles comes out before I give it any slack. I'm not cynical enough that I'm going to instantly write it off, but I will wait for the reviews because I am hopeful that Sonic will one day turn around.

Also, thanks, I forgot to reserve Order of Ecclesia. That's like the eighth game I've reserved to buy.

My main issue is that without even the basic Sonic gameplay, all you are left with is all the Sonic Characters and the story. And really, what is that but Dragonball Z with crappier characters and a more asinine story?

Completely true.

But, to be fair, if Dragon Ball Z were to come out with a game that had a story written by Bioware, I wouldn't preorder it but I would at least keep an eye on it.

I trust Bioware that much.

Id actually totally wanna play that game.

Anyway, I almost never preorder games unless it's published by Atlus or it's a huge release that I think will sell out on the first day (ex. Super Smash Bros. Brawl). So, um... I guess I should probably get to preordering Disgaea DS. Maaaaaaaaybe Dragon Quest IV. I still haven't even finished The World Ends With You.
