Gonna be on TV!
Watch Tactical to Practical at the end of the month y'all and watch your's truly dressed up in an authentic Civil War costume being dragged behind a team of six horses on a metal and wooden box with wheels on it. I'll be looking very silly because I'll either be grimacing in pain from being jolted up and down on the box OR I'll be praying to God we don't hit a rut and fall over and die. That almost happened to me once. I'm an avid Civil War reenactor. Feel free to ask questions about it or request any stories. I got enough horror stories to tell.
Like the time my horse turned me into a rodeo star. I stayed on for my eight seconds but still no belt buckle. Or the time my dad came within two inches (litterally) of being impaled by a broken limber pole attached to a runaway horse. Or the time my friend Brandon shot my friend Dan in the foot because he called me a "dyke in training" after I mentioned I was a tom-boy. And making my first tent stake at the blacksmith's shop. I really got to work with metal, it was soooo cool. At the time Gumpy the horse bit me right on the ass, boy did that hurt... Anywho, I'll be the one behind the second team of horses, as the first one is dragging a box with three people behind it and a cannon. I'm behind the second one, which is carrying a box with three people on it and another set of two boxes carrying three more people and an extra wheel. I'm on the first box behind the second team. I'm the little tiny figure that really looks like a girl SMOOSHED between two very large men. I'm wearing glasses. |
Confederates or yanks?
|
Yanks, yo! I'm part of the Third U.S. Artillery, largest mounted battery of reenactors in the USA, thank ya much!
|
That's awesome! I watch that show all the time. But, I've had people tell me they're going to be on t.v. before. Like the time my friend was on The New Detectives. He only ended up actually on television for a split second. Really, if you blinked you would've missed him. Is your spot going to be longer than two seconds? :D

I hope so, because they taped us like four times going around this field. First at a walk, then at a trot... then at a run... Boy did it hurt. Bumps and clots of dirt feel like they're two feet tall when you have no suspension. And everyone asked why I didn't want to go Airborne... I was afraid of falling from that height and it was only four feet off the ground... But I haven't seen it yet, it should be airing at the end of the month. I hope I'll be seen more often than not...

Hiss. Boo. Sorry, I'm from Georgia.. Decked out in St. Andrew's cross and the like.. Yeah. *grabs his grey fatigues* I'm gonna fight'n me a war, ya'll. Ready the cannons!
|
*snags her blues...* Wait a second, I'm an artificer's apprentice, I don't play on the battlefields anymore. BUT, there's no hard feelings even though you LOST. Hehe.
|
Hah, we only lost because you killed over 2/3 of our largest army and ruined our economy by blockading our ships and stopping our cotton shipments.
...Hmph. You still had more casualties... ^_^ |
We looked better in our uniforms. :P Hehehe!
|
No way! Dark Blue fatigues? Thbbbbt. It's like the march of the Smurfs. Grey is the color... Like a deft fog moving out of the darkness.. Yeah..
