iTunes is being a dick.
I was tinkering around with my iTunes purchased album from Entertainment System the other day and I converted the songs to MP3. Now they show up twice on a Smart Playlist. Oops. Went into the files and deleted them.
Well they're still showing up. Which instead of running the Smart playlist I have to compose my own by drag-n-drop. It isn't that bad, it's just annoying. How do I get rid of these? |
Attach a pair of high powered magnets to each side of your case, on either side of the hard drive.

Use library software that is not the bane of existance.

Unless I am missing something, this is easy.
You can just delete them from your library [the extraneous ones, that is].
Alternatively, remove all songs from your library [without deleting them, of course!! -- just the library entries] and re-form your library. Obviously, this is wasteful unless you have a lot of orphaned entries laying around. |
iTunes is totally the devil because there's no Battlestar Galactica music on here.
Seriously if I don't find the full-length version of the Season One Opening Credits music I will shed enough tears to turn the United States of America into a swamp. |

Kick iTunes to the curb and buy a USB music player that has a drag-n-drop interface. Seriously they're cheaper as well as easier to use.

Or I could be reading too much into the "burning CDs" post above yours.
I suspect that you may not have read the thread.

The Internet Giving Advice: A play in one act
"Hey guys my car's been having problems, based on the following description does anyone know what might be wrong?" "Buy a bike!" "HONDA SUX" "Take the bus, snobbypants!" "LEARN 2 WALK NUB" |

I did a quick search and found this script for removing dead tracks from your library. Why iTunes doesn't have like this automatically is stupidly baffling. |
