E3 Games List
1 Attachment(s)
Here we have a roundup of non-surprises from each company. This year's E3 will be quite interesting. Please discuss!
Acclaim 100 Bullets (PS2, Xbox) Combat Elite: World War II Paratroopers (PS2, Xbox) Juiced (PC, PS2, Xbox) SHOWDOWN: Legends of Wrestling (PS2, Xbox) The Red Star (PS2, Xbox) Analysis: Well, never was a huge fan of Acclaim, but it seems like they're just coming out with the obligatory shoot 'em ups and action titles this year. The Adventure Company Atlantis Evolution (PC) Aura: Fate of the Ages (PC) Dark Fall 2: Lights Out (PC) Jules Verne 2 (PC) Riddle of the Sphinx II: The Temple of Mu (PC) Analysis: Well, any adventure company is good in my book. But I'm a bit skeptical: Atlantis Evolution? Jules Verne 2? How would that work? Hmm...well, let's hope they're serious about games. Atari Driver 3 (PS2, Xbox) Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors (GBA) Duel Masters: Sempai Legends (GBA) Shadow Ops: Red Mercury (Xbox, PC) Terminator 3: Redemption (PS2, Xbox) Yu-Yu Hakusho 2 (GBA) Zoids Legacy (GBA) Analysis: Well, Driver 3 seems to be the major thing here. I was never a huge fan of the Driver series, but I hear Driver 3 is actually not going to be a GTA clone. We have a DBZ game and 3 anime games, plus a licensed game. The only other one I have hopes for is Shadow Ops. Bandai Cowboy Bebop (PS2) Digimon Racing (GBA) Digimon Rumble Arena 2 (Cube, Xbox) Digimon World 4 (Cube, PS2, Xbox) Galactic Wrestling Featuring Ultimate Muscle (PS2) Gundam Battle Assault 3 (GBA, PS2) Inuyasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask (PS2) Mobile Suit Z-Gundam: A.E.U.G. vs. Titans (PS2) RibbitKing (Cube, PS2) SD Gundam Force (GBA, PS2) Analysis: Hmm...this is to be expected. 90% of these games will sell on their names alone. SD Gundam...die. Here's hoping they don't fuck up the Cowboy Bebop game like they did the Lupin game. Not that it was horrible, just not as good as it should have been. Bethesda Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (PC, Xbox) IHRA Professional Drag Racing (PC, Xbox) Analysis: Drag Racing...boring. But Call of Cthulhu...I'll be watching this one. Blizzard StarCraft: Ghost (Cube, PS2, Xbox) World of Warcraft (PC) Analysis: Ghost has potential, but I have no respect for any mmorpgs that aren't revolutionary. Capcom Killer 7 (Cube, PS2) Mega Man Anniversary Collection (Cube, GBA, PS2) Mega Man Battle Network 4: Red Sun and Blue Moon (GBA) Mega Man X Command Mission (Cube, PS2) Monster Hunter (PS2) Onimusha 3 (PS2 - not in Europe yet by E3) Resident Evil 4 (Cube) Shadow of Rome (PS2) Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas (PS2) Way of the Samurai 2 (PS2) Analysis: Capcom seems to have the only kickass lineup so far. We got Killer 7, a cel-shaded, noir adventure, plus the MM Anniversary Collection (with tons of games, and for 3 systems, too!). Command Mission and 4 are at the least going to be decent. We have Onimusha 3, Way of the Samurai 2, Nightmare Before Christmas, Resident Evil 4, and then something I've never heard of, Shadow of Rome. Capcom is going to be pretty solid this year. CDV Blitzkrieg II (PC) Codename: Panzers (PC) Cossacks II (PC) Analysis: What's world war 2? Cenega Creature Conflict: The Clan Wars (PC) Gooka: The Mystery of Janatris (PC) Shade: Wrath of Angels (PC) The Roots (PC) Analysis: Hm. Noun: the adjective noun. Not really sure what to expect from any of these. The Roots? A new game, or a game off of the famous 70s TV show? You decide. Dreamcatcher Besieger (PC) Cold War (PC) Dungeon Lords (PC) SuperPower 2 (PC) Painkiller (Xbox) Analysis: ...Dreamcatcher...you better redeem yourself, and quick. Electronic Arts Armies of Exigo (PC) Battle for Middle Earth (PC) Black & White 2 (PC) Burnout 3 (PS2, Xbox) Catwoman (PS2, Xbox) Def Jam Vendetta 2 (Cube, PS2, Xbox) FIFA 2005 (PC, PS2, Xbox) The Godfather (PS2, Xbox) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban (Cube, PC, PS2, Xbox) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (PS2, Xbox) Madden NFL 2005 (Cube, PC, PS2, Xbox) March Madness 2005 (PS2, Xbox) NASCAR Thunder 2005 (Cube, PC, PS2, Xbox) NBA Live 2005 (Cube, PC, PS2, Xbox) NCAA 2005 (PS2, Xbox) NHL 2005 (Cube, PC, PS2, Xbox) Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault (PC) Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 (Cube, PC, PS2, Xbox) Ultima X (PC) Analysis: Ultima X--that's hopeful, but let's hope it doesn't suffer from Morrowind Syndrome like IX did. We have many sports games, nothing really interesting, but Lord of the Rings and Medal of Honor sound promising. The Godfather seems interesting, but if they fuck it up, people will be pissed. Burnout 3 has to be good, because Burnout 2 just freaking owns. Funcom Anarchy Online: Alien Invasion (PC) Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (PC) Analysis: YES! TLJ 2! There IS(N'T) A GOD! With Anarchy Online, I gave up on that a while ago. Koei Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires (PS2) Analysis: Yay...another one. Konami Boktai 2 (GBA) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2) Shaman King (GBA) Silent Hill 4 (PS2) Suikoden IV (PS2) Analysis: Yeah, Konami. MGS3 will no doubt steal the show, with Suikoden IV. Silent Hill 4 will no doubt make me shit my pants. Shaman King is just another anime game (unless they do something special), then finally, Boktai 2. Don't know if it'll be good, I never played Boktai, but I'm getting it in my gamefly queue so I should know soon enough. LucasArts Mercenaries (PS2, Xbox) Star Wars Battlefront (PC, PS2, Xbox) Star Wars: Republic Commando (PC, Xbox) Analysis: Fuck you, Lucas Arts, I'm not buying any more of your shitty star wars games. www.savesamandmax.com ! Maxis The Sims 2 (PC) Analysis: I'm not a hater. The Sims rocked. I'm hopeful for this. Microsoft Dungeon Siege 2 (PC) Fable (Xbox) Halo 2 (Xbox) Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict (Xbox) Analysis: Halo 2...feh. Dungeon Siege 2...feh. Unreal Championship 2...feh. The first one's overrated, the second one is a sequel to a 3d diablo, and the third is a cheapened UT2k3/4. Fable is the only one I have hope for, but I think it will suffer from Morrowind-syndrome. Midway Area 51 (PS2, Xbox) Mortal Kombat Deception (PS2, Xbox) NARC (PS2, Xbox) Psi Ops (PS2, Xbox) Analysis: Hey, Mortal Kombat! As if anyone cares anymore! More no-name games. Oh, Midway, when will you learn? Natsume Chulip (PS2) Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life 2 (Cube) Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town 2 (GBA) Analysis: More Harvest Moon? YES! I'm all for it. I own Friends of Mineral Town and it's great. Nintendo Classic NES Series: Super Mario Bros. (GBA) Classic NES Series: Donkey Kong (GBA) Classic NES Series: Excitebike (GBA) Classic NES Series: The Legend of Zelda (GBA) Classic NES Series: Ice Climber (GBA) Classic NES Series: Pac-Man (GBA) Classic NES Series: Xevious (GBA) Classic NES Series: Bomberman (GBA) Donkey Kong Country 2 (GBA) F-Zero 2: Legend of Falcon (GBA) Mario Golf Advance Tour (GBA) Metroid Prime 2 (Cube) Nintendo DS handheld system The Legend of Zelda: The Four Swords (Cube) The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 2 (Cube) Analysis: Yeah baby! Four Swords is supposed to have a whole new LttP-style advenutre packaged in it. WW2 sounds great. Metroid Prime 2 has been in the "holy shit yes" line for a while now. The DS will be shown, so finally some of our questions will be answered. I was never a big FZero guy. DKC2, I'm glad the younguns will get exposed to it. Finally, Mario Golf Advance Tour: it will definitely be pulled off masterfully, but I still won't buy it. I'm just not a big golf guy. Then we have the whole classic nes series which I hear is going pretty well so far. NCSoft Auto Assault (PC) Guild Wars (PC) Tabula Rasa (PC) Analysis: NCSoft? A quick check on gamestats.com shows that they made the Lineage series. Feh! Overrated. Sony Online Entertainment EverQuest II (PC) Analysis: How to waste your life: starring everquest. Strategy First ALFA: Antiterror (PC) COPS 2170: The Power of Law (PC) Analysis: HAhahahahahahaha--COPS 2170. Oh man. Oprah 2525 -- Oprah struggles in the harsh post-apocolyptic world of Earth, and lives in the wild, but she holds out with her excellent advice. THQ Full Spectrum Warrior (PC, Xbox) Polar Express (Cube, GBA, PC, PS2) Punisher (PS2, Xbox) STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl (PC) SpongeBob: The Movie (Cube, GBA, PC, PS2, Xbox) The Incredibles (Cube, GBA, PC, PS2, Xbox) Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War (PC) WWE Day of Reckoning (Cube) Analysis: Full Spectrum Warrior is going to be one of the fucking best tactical games ever. If you haven't seen it yet, go to www.gametrailers.com and watch the gameplay video. So damn cool. In other news, Spongebob, Warhammer, WWE, and more uninteresting titles. VU Games Cold Winter (PS2, Xbox) Crash Twinsanity (PS2, Xbox) Evil Genius (PC) Fight Club (PS2, Xbox) Ground Control 2 (PC) Half-Life 2 (PC) Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude (PC, PS2, Xbox) Men of Valor (PC, Xbox) Red Ninja (PS2) Spyro 5 (PS2, Xbox) The Bard's Tale (PC, PS2, Xbox) The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (Xbox) Tribes: Vengeance (PC) Van Helsing (GBA, PS2, Xbox) Analysis: HL2...yeah, right. Leisure Suit Larry; good to see a comeback. Another Tribes, let's hope they don't fuck it up. Fight Club...likewise. They'll probably cheapen the whole story. Spyro 5...5 too many Spyros. Then a Tribes game. Hmm. A decent lineup. |
just gonna pick a few out and say a word.
Atari Yu-Yu Hakusho 2 (GBA) WHY GOD WHY? The first one sucked so hard, i regretted downloading the game. I personally felt sorry for anyone that actually bought it. Duel Masters: Sempai Legends (GBA) Don't they already have a game called yugioh? Bandai Cowboy Bebop (PS2) Digimon Racing (GBA) Digimon Rumble Arena 2 (Cube, Xbox) Digimon World 4 (Cube, PS2, Xbox) Galactic Wrestling Featuring Ultimate Muscle (PS2) Gundam Battle Assault 3 (GBA, PS2) Inuyasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask (PS2) Mobile Suit Z-Gundam: A.E.U.G. vs. Titans (PS2) RibbitKing (Cube, PS2) SD Gundam Force (GBA, PS2) Wow, I think all those games are based of anime. If MS Z-G is like MSG Federation vs Zion, it should be a worthwhile game. Hopefully it's not like journey to jaburo Blizzard World of Warcraft (PC) I can't go through one topic on the vnboards about a problem or imbalance in the game, without seeing someone mentioning WoW. I'm not exgerating that either, sad, or blizzard has one hell of a secret publicity team. I feel bad for not downloading the leaked alpha when i had the chance Koei Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires (PS2) Koei likes beating dead horses I take it. Koei has produced 16-17 games on the RoTK period. Granted they have taken different turns but still 17 on the same time period. Maxis The Sims 2 (PC) meh, could be interesting Natsume Chulip (PS2) Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life 2 (Cube) Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town 2 (GBA) farming being fun? I can't believe that it is an addicting game, but it is. Saddly no flying dragon sequel, I loved that fighting game sony EverQuest II (PC) ran out of names for expanisions I take it |
wholy jesus, thats a great writeup locke.
I'm kind of worried about the number of licenced games i'm seeing, especialy those based on comic books (100 bullets and the Red Star in particular). and I have absolutely no hope for the Cowboy Bebop game, there is no way in hell it could be as cool as the anime series. I'll see your "boycott of Lucas Arts", and raise you one "boycott of EA" for canceling Earth and Beyond. and to admit to how much of a Nintendo whore i am: i'm sexualy excited by about 80% of the games on that list. |
Haha, nice (btw holy, not wholy).
i'll see your "boycott of EA" and raise you one "boycott of Mel Gibson" for The Passion. Wait...that's not a game. Well, it was on easter! |
ill see your "boycott Mel Gibson" and i'll call.

The Roots is a hybrid of action/adventure and RPG. It's supposed to feature a multi-threaded storyline and huge world. It has potential anyway.
Ultima X is a MMORPG, and as such I have little to no hope for it. With Origin dead and Richard Garriot long gone there really doesn't seem much reason to believe. Halo 2 will be great, I'm sure. What with Bungie pulling out all the stops how could it be otherwise? I'm sure I'll rent it when it comes out. Fable isn't likely to fall into the Morrowind trap. Of all the pitfalls it may stumble into, that seems the least likely. The game has a pretty focused storyline, and many grumblings have been because it's not Morrowind in nature. Plus, no unspoken dialog doesn't suggest that direction. How the simulated world works out is another story, but at least the previews are all good. I wonder why Paper Mario isn't on the list? At any rate it is looking really awesome so far. [Bard's Tale[/i] looks to have real potential. The NES ports seem like real rips though, given that they are just ports, probably emulated at that, and could easily fit on a single cartridge. It's nice to see some adventure games out there, let's just hope some are good. PS. Tabula Rasa is the next game by Richard Garriot. Lord British himself. Whether or not NCSoft or Lineage is overrated, a new game by Lord British is worthy of note. |
Yeah, but Garriot thinks he's the greatest person in the world, even if he is kinda cool. Kind of pompous.
Donno why PM isn't. Maybe half-surprise, even though we know about it? Actually it probably will be there, this is a confirmed list of games that will be there. Halo 2 still does not impress me. I donno, a game where you can do anything like Morrowind (and I know you can do anything even more in Fable), ultimately makes it boring. People didn't think so, but some games just need some form of linearity. Ultima X...mmorpg? hah. haha. |

Wha...!? No timespliters 3? That will best the best FPS the consoles will ever see. EVER.
Save Sam and max? Save monkey island more like. And why is Burnout3 on EA list? I thought it was made by acclaim. Meh, Burnout still owns. |
