Brian, still ending in 2008?

It seems like there's not enough time to cover the remainder of the story in 4 more months.

I'm reminded of the anime One Piece, which was planned by the author, Oda Eiichiro, to last 5 years. ... One Piece is in year 11 now, and the character's are only just reaching the halfway point.

So, would 2009, or even 2010 be more realistic an end date?

I highly doubt this, as they're now in the Temple of Fiends for the second time around. That's pretty much the end of the game in FF1, with the only thing left being to defeat Chaos. Because you don't, if fact, necessarily have to re-defeat the Fiends. They're on trip tiles and can be avoided. Chaos is the final boss, though, so the game ends when you beat him. All the party has to do is defeat Chaos and I frankly have no idea why Brian is dragging it out with RM being transformed like this, which seems almost like padding if I didn't know 8-Bit Theater was taking his attentions away from much more profitable endeavors.

In short, Brian has said 8-Bit must end so's he can make more monies with other stuff, and it makes no sense to drag it out for an entire year more when he's clearly at the tail end of the tale. XD

HAhahaha

ONE PIECE AHAHAHAHA

There's no dragging things out. It ust takes a long time to get from Point A to Point B when every character with a speaking role is catastrophically incompetent. Anyway, to answer the question, I've only said that my best guess is that the comic will end somewhere in 2008. I'm still going with that.

Four more months is plenty of time, considering that the end is so near...
I've been reading since...About since the Light Warriors met Matoya, so, what, about six years now? I've never actually contemplated an end to 8-bit Theater. Since I started reading, I've learned French, C++, and how to play almost any instrument with strings, started High School, moved at least four times...holy shit...I figured I'd be reading 8-Bit well into college...

Well, thanks to Brian for making more than one-third of my life infinitely funnier and more enjoyable. You'd better not fuck up the ending =P

Thanx for the clarification Brian. Answer my PMs damn it! :-P

Fifthfiend, yes, One Piece is way overrated, but still enjoyable. So FEH on you.

Now that I think about it, when I started reading, the newest comic consisted of Thief trying to explain to Black Mage why recovering the Earth Orb is a good idea. Since then, I've become a massage therapist, half finished my AA (it's been a crazy few years), traveled, lived and worked in both Georgia and Oregon, aided a friend in getting his short stories published and expanded my art study. I figured I'd still be reading 8-Bit well into a future steady college degree fueled job.

I don't see the comparison here...

One piece = shit
8 bit theater = awesome

like red mage my math is flawless so there for

8 bit theater does not = One Piece

Even if 8 bit does end, the forums will go on...I'm just glad Brian took us on such a great ride these past years...I'm glad to have been apart of it almost since the beginning.

As a theatre major who tends to write plays based on incredibly incompetent people, I find this to be one of the truest statements ever made in all of human history.

The only reason I mentioned One Piece is because it was supposed to be short, yet it's gonna be super long.

I made the point to illustrate that sometimes even the author has no idea when his own work will end.

I wasn't trying get into a debate about One Piece.
