Fringe: The X-Files 2.0

So, just finished watching the premeire, and I must say I now have a new addition to my TV schedule this year. Granted, it had one of the grossest cold opens I've seen on a network show (which was amplified by eating a chili cheese burrito at the time), but I was thoroughly entertained by it, and had a really good case.

But yeah, this is essentially an X-Files for the new millenium, but that isn't a bad thing kinda like the X-Files in concept but has a bit of a different execution and totally different characters.

Those that missed it and want to catch it, FOX is encoring it on Sunday.

So, any comments/discussion?

I just want to know when they're putting it up on their website as I don't have access to cable right now.

I'll tell you what I think once they do that.

Is this the one by J.J. Abrams?

Wait what? More X-Files? I may have to cry tears of joy. I'm still watching the original series though. I'm up to season 5, now; I was too young to really understand it when it came around the first time.

Yes, yes it is.

Well, it's not exactly the X-Files, but there are enough similarities to make the comparison.

I guess I'll watch it. I hate J.J. Abrams but I like Mulder.

Mike McC 09-09-2008 10:04 PM

There is no Mulder. There are entirely different characters. And it has no actual relation to The X-Files.

Regretting the comparison now, Fencer? XD

...

...I almost just went with, "Wait, you're telling me the X-Files is back on?!"

I know that, but I felt like not typing the X-Files like everyone else.

Plus, I really like Mulder.
