PSO lovers rejoice: Phantasy Star Zero to hit DS come winter
 

PSZ is a new game in the PSO (NOT PSU!) series. It'll have support for 4 players over WiFi, have an inbuilt Pictochat-like interface and some form of mic support. It also has a huge dragon. Release date is Winter 08. I'll post a couple of scans soon!

I dunno, I kind of have a hard time seeing PS fit on the DS. I'll see.

Of course, all I REALLY want is Phantasy Star 4. I mean, what the fuck? You'll port all of the inferior games, but not the best one in the series?

I've never played this series...am I missing out on something great?

When I saw the title Phantasy Star Zero I thought this would be a prequel to the Phantasy Star Tetralogy.

Though I don't like the Universe/Online arc, Phantasy Star 1/2/3 and ESPECIALLY IV were probably some of the best early console RPGs.

IV is like my favorite RPG of all time.

My recommendation is to play IV first. The first 3 did not age too well, and will probably turn you off the series if you're not really into oldschool RPG mechanics. They're great games, don't get me wrong, but good CHRIST, some of those dungeons in PS2....

I know what you mean, I miss Phantasy Star IV... It rocked! Anyone play that disaster known as Phantasy Star 3?

As for Universe, it was Sega's way to get people to pay them for something they KNEW would get people, unlock some of their online games :cough:Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst:cough:

Universe sucked because of they way they designed it... ugh. Would be good if they made it more PSO then PSU...

I am never giving up my copy of Phantasy Star IV. I remember how many lawns I had to mow to get $36.50 and buy the damned thing.

Just want to correct a mistake of mine, this game supports 4 players, not 3 like I previously thought.
