Internet Comics that should never be?

Alright, they exist and for some reason we wish that they wouldn't exist. Which of these webcomics do you not stand and why?

Mirai Gen 09-13-2008 12:15 AM

A+ for effort but I think this usually goes bad places.

You know, obligatory Control Alt Delete reference, Dominic Deegan, PVP, Megatokyo, etc. We pretty much specialize in getting our hate on at NPF and we've beaten this horse into pulp.

EDIT: And Seil proves my point.

Seil 09-13-2008 12:15 AM

....Death to anyone that mentions CAD.

Stop being mean.

That being said, I love S*P, but don't really like S*P 1938. I like the other spinoffs but 38 just doesn't work for me.

Also, can anyone else not stand CRFH?

I'm okay with a hate-webcomics thread if for no other reason than it should prevent that sort of thing cropping up in the like-webcomics thread.

It's been a while since we hated on webcomics I guess.

It would be fun to get some non PVP/CAD answers everyone knows everyone hates those (Except seil because who even knows)

I'm starting to think I hate Sluggy Freelance.

Although the Demon Panty Raid bit forgives a lot.

Amake 09-13-2008 01:04 AM

There's at least ten million really bad webcomics out there. Do some deserve hate more than others just cause they're more famous, or what? I don't really get this thread.

Fifthfiend 09-13-2008 01:06 AM

Yes. What I don't know about on the internet can't hurt me. Once I know it exists I have to actually give a shit about how terrible it is.

Amake 09-13-2008 01:08 AM

Bad comics can't hurt me even if I know about them, unless I want them to. . .

Look Seil I'm not saying that CAD doesn't have pretty great jokes sometimes, and hey even the walls of text don't bug me that badly. But you even said it yourself - CAD is a million times better when it doesn't feature his main characters. (I'd also like a filter on every punchline that boils down to "SOMEONE DIES LOLOLOL" while I'm at it)

The only reason I really hate it is because of Tim Buckley's absolute refusal to consider that his comic might suck. Just try posting on the forum, "Hey, on the comic, but that first panel's text is totally unnecessary," and watch as he bans and insults you. As a writer myself that's just not an attitude I have time for. Hell someone even did that, not because the comic sucked but because of how stupid and offensive the Gaming Religion storyline was and he banned them for it.

Gimme a while to dig out my Hatin' Hat and I'll have some lampoonable comics in no time.

You know I have to be a sadist, because I'm enjoying the suffering that the CAD's main characters are going through, it seems like some kind of justice for something yaknow? And Mirai, I kinda understand what you mean. But even so, atleast the guy updates on a regullar basis.

I'll tell you which ones I hate the most.

VGCats : If the constant ammount of guest strips don't bother you, then it has to be because this artist is too damn emo to come up with a fucking update to the main comic. I mean you may as well call it super effective instead of VG Cats. Its almost amusing that they want you to buy their stuff... Reminds me so much of WLP...

Shifters : This dead comic is where my hate for webcomics and dislike for some artists began. With the "accidents" that keep happening to this artist, they may as well just stop drawing all together and get themselves a real job. -_-

You know, say what you what about 8-Bit, but atleast its amusing and updates on a daily basis. I would almost be convinced in buying Brian's stuff, but I don't read alot unfortunately. And I have few comic books around too.
