Sprites & Such - a decidedly different sprite comic by tim333.

Sprites & Such is a sprite comic that tries to break the conventions of panel arrangement that are prevalent throughout most sprite comics, despite the fact that on the internet we can shape our comics however we like. Actually, 8-bit theater is the most innovative sprite comic I've seen in terms of panel layout and I've drawn a lot of inspiration from it, but I digress.

Please check out my comic here: Sprites & Such . It may not be revolutionary, but I think it's pretty funny.

UPDATE 4/10: Comic #006 up! It's really funny. Go see it on the site.

That was, suprisingly good. The jokes are original, and the layout is superb. Speaking as a sprite comic author, this is one of the better comics out there.

Interesting... according to statcounter, one of the visitors to my site had this board highlight "sprite" in this topic. Yeah, I guess I do use that word a lot when describing the comic, but I feel it's necessary to use the word "sprite" to distinguish it from other kinds of comics. I mean, a lot of comics have had unusual panel layouts, but almost none of them have been sprite comics.

Really good. It was quite funny, especialy the one with Bowser. Explains a lot, really.

HA! Thats hilarious!

Bowser:And fire! Ha! Take that fat plumber!

This has some good potential! keep going!

Hmm, surprisingly good. I really liked the Earthbound one.

"And we will never speak of this again..."

All of them are funny however, and very well done. This is one I will keep an eye on. Keep up the good work.

I was skeptical at first, but I like it. They are funny--despite their MSPaintness. I was expecting, another "self-insulting-i-am-aware-that-i-am-a-sprite-comic" sprite comic. But you cleared that up in #2. The bowser one is great, like the design. I know how you could do it, but how did you make the outline on the text for the skkthiritchc? I mean, you're not using pshop, so either you found a good way (like making text that's a size bigger then making it a different color) or you took a realllly long time.

Ha! A mushroom! i'm so evil!

edit: hahahah the castlevania one rocks! as do all the others!

but you gotta make more than just videogame follies, even if they rock.

I did the text effect with a tool called the "pencil" ;)

It didn't take that long. I typed "skritcha" once, went over it with the pencil, and then copy and pasted the rest. What took a long time was converting the SMB3 airship graphics into something that looks like a blueprint.

When's the next strip coming out? It's been a while.

I'm sorry, I have a lot of things going on right now - school, a great girlfriend, and an enormously ambitious RPG Maker 2000 game that a friend and I are making. I already have the next seven strips scripted out, and will get around to making them in the near future.
