Supervillain Hell
So, for school I have to do some visual representation of Dante's Inferno, and I want to do mine with supervillains that represent the levels of hell. Only problem is, I can't think of enough. So I turn to the Internet for help. Any ideas?

I'm assuming you want fairly recognizable villains. Based on that assumption...
Lets see... you could use Ozymandias. He could fit in a few places anywhere from "noble pagan" to "betrayer" depending on how you see him. Actually, you could probably fit him in nicely with the false prophets. You could stick Sauron or possibly Morgoth right on level 9. Actually, Sauron would probably fit nicely on Bolgia 2 or 10... maybe. Put Hannibal Lechter on level 7. That seems to suit him. Freddy Krueger could go to level 5 with the wrathful. Hell, most slasher flick villains could go there. |
The problem is that the first few levels are about passive sins rather than active sins and will be quite hard to find a supervillains in there.
EXCEPT! If you go to Captain Planet. Cause then you got like Hoggish Greedly, Loot and Plunder etc. For once Captain planet saves us all. |
Read Spawn.

No. Just No.
Anyway, Bitvyper, I had thought of Ozzy, but not under betrayal. That'll fit. If anyone's curious, I've already got some obvious ones, like Namor in Limbo, Doom and Luthor in Pride, Red Skull in Wrath, Punisher in Violence, and Joker in treachery. |
Well the 9th level, that of traitors, should be fairly easy as comics are full of these, I just can't think of any good examples now. But I'd totally go with a hero turned villain.

I don't know. I already want the Joker in treachery, and don't want to overload on Batvillains.

Is Joker really "treachery"? He sort of just walks up to you and says I'm going to stab you with a brain in the ice pick, and then he does it. Is there really a betrayal, as such, involved?
Truthfully I think it would work best if you included villains and heros in your portrayal of Hell. Dante wasn't above throwing like, Brutus or Odysseus or pretty much anyone in there as long as he just didn't happen to like them. You could put Superman in Satan's mouth for I don't know, being too much like God or whatevs. As a general list of comics dudes - Superman villains: Lex Luthor Darkseid (kind of a whole lot of everything here) Parasite (gluttony) Braniac (deceiver? thief?) Batman villains Joker Two Face The Riddler Poison Ivy (seducers?) Catwoman (first level, lust?) Mr. Freeze The Ventriloquist Flash villains Captain Cold Weather Wizard The Trickster Captain Boomerang Evil Flash (or whatever they call him) Fantastic Four villains Galactus (gluttony lol) Doctor Doom (Actually in keeping with the using heroes thing, you could probably put the FF at the bottom of hell somewhere for thwarting the plans of a sovereign ruler. This is going by Dante's view of how things work after all) Annihilus Spidey villains Doctor Octopus Green Goblin Rhino Venom (revenge, obsession?) Kingpin (wherever you put pimps and pushers and suchlike?) Sandman Kraven the Hunter (Pride) X-Men Villains Apocalypse Magneto Mr. Sinister Sabertooth Mystique Chris Claremont (ALL OF THEM. ALL OF THE SINS) Avengers / misc. villains Ultron (do robots go to hell? He betrayed the fuck out of his father, so there's that) Loki (betrays you three times before he gets out of bed. And you've never even met him!) Abomination Red Skull Thanos MODOK |

Fuck, so is Kirby. I'm only saying this to avoid linking a webcomic. |
