My lack of Judgement... (Redwall Roleplay sign up)

It's abou ttime someone made one of these...

Rules:

No godmodeling! (Making yourself invincible)

No placing hits!

No netspeak, or anything like that!

You cannot take the role of an actual character!

You cannot start as the Bader lord, Redwall warrior, or Log-a-log. Yuo must earn your way by roleplaying.
The game:

Now, this is will not start with a large storyline, because I want it to be something that unfolds over time.

We have Redwall Abby, which Lies in the central area of the Redwall map, and the River Moss runs to the northeast, as does mossflower wood. Tot he north, we have the land of the crows, and the mountains. Westward of those, we come the the north shorecaves of the mice. as we go south, we go across the sea, and eventually end at the grea volcano fortress of Salamandastron, where badgers and Hares rule. If we go out into the sea aways, we come to an island in the middle of the sea. It's called: Terramort. Terramort and the surrounding areas are laden with sea rats.
If we continue to go sounthward from Salamandastron, we will come across the toad marches, and the great Bat mountains.

Even further still to the south, we will come to the ruins of Loamhedge, and the graet squirrel castle of Florain, (Spelling) and the surounding areas. Going eastward again, we come across a southern part the the river Moss, (Shrwes live near the rivers) And to get the the hidde Inlands lake. It is a small forest on the large island in the middle, and the lake is populated with Pike, and birds.

Your character:

Name: This is where you will put your character's name.

Age: The age of youe character IN SEASONS.

Race: There are many races to choose from. they are all listed below this section.

Small family tree: here is where you will put your character's father, mother, and anything else that may be inportant.

Occupation: Not everybeast is a warrior. You could be an infants, if you wanted, or a craftsman, or even a Cellar hog, if you wanted. Of course, you'd see more action if you did do some fighting, but it's great to have people doing something other than fighting. (If you become an abbot or abess of redwall, prepare to have a crap-load of fun, and work ahead.)

Equipment: ONLY EUROPEAN WEAPONS.

Special skills your character has: Digging, cooking, weapon skill, tracking, etc etc.

A short bio:

Starting location:

The races of Redwall:

Mice: The larger population of Redwall. You should all know what mice are. They aren't the strongest race, or the fastest, but they are balanced.

Shrews: Samller than mice, these rivier-dwelling creatures live in riverside camps, or on boats. The are sometimes called river pirates, and they use rapiers as their main weapons. They call their leaders: Log-a-log.
(Try and make them speak with a small pirate accent for good effect)

Hedgehogs: These are large craetures with an array of spikes on their back. they are quite strong, and haev a fair english accent in their speech. They make good cellarkeeps.

Voles: Another variant of the mouse, these can come a land, or water voles. they have high, shrill voices. They can have a greedy nature, and make good thieves. (When speaking with them, you should have: 'Yiss yiss!' to get the greatest effect of their speech.

Hares: These are the less-common species of Redwwall. The are large, and have great strength. Most of these can be found at Salamandastron, serving the badgers. However, Redwall does get it's share of hares. They eat A LOT. And they have HUGE ebglish accents. Here's a speech sample of a hare: "Bring out the bally vittles and scone, wot wot!" They also make good minstrels.

Moles: These can generallty be found at redwall, serving for constructional uses. They are great builders, and tunnelers, and arcitects. Their leader is called the 'Foremole'. They have HUGE and heavy low voices with an indescribealbe accent. Speech sample of a mole:
"Urr, Moi 'earties, chuck umm o'er gudd'n'ard naow!"

Translation: here me hearties, chuck them over good and hardnow!"

Squirrels: Around the same size as a mouse, these tree-dwellers are very fast, adn agile. They make great Archers, and sometimes melee warriors. They speak in normal tones.

Birds: Depending on your species, you have different speech patterns. Northern birds have an 'Ahnald' (Arnold) accents, while the sparrow types have erally fast, and high pitched screeches. Yuo carry no weapons.

Badgers: Probably the lowest population in the redwall universe, these raetures are huge, and make great fighters. They rules the great volcano of Salamandastron, and are drvien there by their warrior spirit. They aren't always warriors, though. They also make great smithies, and are even rumored to be able to see the future. I am only allowing up to 4 of these.

Rats: The scourge of Redwall, these tend to make up the evil army ranks of warlords. Larger than mie, and stronger, these craetureslive anywhere. From the ocea, to the rivers, to land, they plauge the area.

Foxes: Large, fast, adn cunning, these beasts are probably one of the most evil of all creatures. Able to use nearly any weapon, these are a force to be reckoned with.

Weasles, ferrets, and stoats.: These fall into the ranks of 'Large rats'. They are big, and brutal. Evil, too. They are pretty much the same, as I have trouble picking out major differences in the three races.

Cats: Ranging from common housecats, to lynx's and mountian lions, these beasts are on the level with badgers. same population rules apply.

Snakes. Very fast, very strong. You could be a garter snake, or even a cobra, or adder. I'm only allowing up to 3 snakes. You can also hypnotise your victems with your eyes. No weapons allowed for snakes.

Bats: These beasts are small, blind, flying craetures thaty inhabit mount batpit. They have helped redwall many times, but generally keep to themselves. They tend to repeat the major parts of their sentences when they speak.

Frogs: Big, fat amphibians that keep tot the marches, the frogs only serve their leader. they come in great numbers. They use tridents as weapons. When they speak, insert the odd 'Croak', or 'groikle', or nioses like that.

Otters: The waterdwelling mammals of redwall. they are good creatures usually, and their leaders are called their 'Skipper.' They are big, and strnog. They're equals are the weasles, and ferret races.

Lizards: The lizards generally travel in bands, and packs, and the diferent species are limited to Newt, Geckos, Chameleons, (Yes, I'm lettnig yuo be chameleons.) Iguanas, and Bearded Dragon, or something alnog those lines. (The first person to come here and make a friggin' Komodo Dragon should die.)

And now we come to the fish. Fist carry no weapons, and don't travel very much, but they can be large, and vicious. They cannot go on land, unless they are planning on dying.

Wow, I've typed a lot! Now start roleplaying!

(The timelilne will be inbetween the Taggerung, and Triss, which is quite a far ways ahead of the original redwall book.)

And don't forget: We DO need villains, and don't be afraid to make a second character!

Questions.

1. Can we lead an evil army and attempt to take over Redwall and/or Salamandastron?

2. If we go good guy, how will we get the Sword of Martin? In each book, it is eather hidden, lost, or bestowed on the chosen warrior.

3. How will this play out? You seem to have set it up ina very general, free-form manner, so will there be some sort of overall goal? (Someone going evil could provide it...)

Meh, that's all I can think of for right this second...

Dr DR 04-09-2004 02:23 PM

The moles don't have an indescribable accent. They also have English accents, just a very specialised regional one. TBH I don't get around enough to identify it, though it seems to fit pretty well with a Cornish accent.

IHateMakingNames 04-09-2004 02:25 PM

Mountain Lions? I'm being a mountain lion. A badger can't even compete with a mountain lion (They were never in any of the books you know (I think), and a mountain lion is laround three times the size of a badger and much stronger).

Element_man 04-09-2004 02:28 PM

Forever_zero: 1: yes. It's first-come, first serve, so I'd really only suggest up to 3 or 4 evil armies.

2: The sword of martin is in the Abbey at this point in time, if I remember correctly. I think it's something to be earned. Something that a badger mother, or abbot should bestow onto the player. (It's first-come first serve for evil psoitions, and any sort of leadership.)

3: Yes, It will all depend on what kind of villain we get. Basically, the villains will write the basic storyline in their posts.

Dr_DR: Pfft. I knew that. ;)

IHateMakingNames: Shit, weren't there? I thught there was... or maybe I'm jsut stupid, and thinking of those damn wildcat... Yeah, I'm thinking take off wildcat. X_x''

Also, I've gotta add hedgehogs to the race list. Same with lizards.

Biran 04-09-2004 02:31 PM

I was waiting for someone to start a Redwall-based RP. I call an otter or a hare!

Edit: Yes, there was a mountain lion/wildcat, if you ever read Lord Brocktree.

IHateMakingNames 04-09-2004 02:32 PM

Yeah, the biggest there ever was I think is a Lynx/Bobcat, and then it was probably just mix between that an a house cat seeing as Badgers are supposed the biggest and strongest (A lynx can take a badger). Most of the animals seem to be about how they would do in real life (Though foxes are much weaker and mice are gods, everything else is about right).

Edit - So I guess no Mountain Lion for me... How about Wolves? A wolf was mentioned in one book (Never an enemy, but mentioned). Of course, a wolf is just a weaker mountain lion...

I'm being evil most likely by the way.

Edit 2 -I did not read anything past Lord Bocktree, but I'm guessing it was just a wild cat (Lynx, Bobcat) and not a mountain lion, as said in above paragraph.

Forever Zero 04-09-2004 02:35 PM

Yes, the biggest they were were Wildcats, they were never mountain lions. I've read all of them except for the latest one, Loamhedge.

And I am going to play a Wildcat as well most likely, but I don't know if I'll be good or evil. I'll decide later.

Dr DR 04-09-2004 02:38 PM

I really don't think I can resist playing a ridiculously English Hare.

Name: Sir Edward Cuttleham

Age: (I don't know how many seasons things are supposed to live so umm...) 24

Race: Hare

Small family tree: An orphan. No relatives at all.

Occupation: Traveller, gambler, amateur adventurer.

Equipment: An Epee.

Special skills your character has: Fencing, Gambling, Singing irritating travelling songs.

A short bio: Oh gosh. Where do I start eh? Well I was bally well born in a pleasant enough village in the middle of nowhere in particular wot wot. Terribly bad things happened though, those dastardly rats captured my parents and killed them, the scurvy blighters. Terribly saddened by the whole ordeal I took my fathers sword and with naught but a cry of "Tally ho!" I slew them where they stood. Then I had some crumpits. This terrible ordeal over I started travelling, seeing the world you know, something to pass the time wot wot. Eventually I came to Redwall Abbey, where I have been temporarily situated, getting drunk off my posterior and gambling with the moles (terribly good bunch of chaps).

Start Location: Redwall

Element_man 04-09-2004 02:38 PM

I'm still waiting for loamhandge to come to the Public Library...

Well, we could sit here debating Races, or make characters! :3

And wolves? I dunno. I htink a coyote would be better.

Dr.DR: Love the character. XD

What in all the hells is an 'Epee?' Some sort of fencing sword?

(I gotta go for a while. So feel free to discuss Redwall, and make you characters while I'm away.)
