#599 is up. The plot thickens rapidly. Not least because we're at #599, and unlike certain other webcomic authors, Rich Burlew usually does use those n-hundred numbered episodes to reveal major plot points (with one exception). I am quite anxiously anticipating the next one.

Durkon seriously needs his role in the comic turned up a few notches from "being there", though.

V needs to get his/her ass kicked, that's what needs to happen. Sometimes the super smart elite characters need a whoopin' to remember they still put on their robes on arm at a time.

Reopening, this thread's good for quite a few posts more. We'd just start another one anyway.

Okay cool, was kind of wondering.

This is really interesting. I understand he's setting up for the whole "without Roy the team falls apart" aspect but it doesn't mean it doesn't make sense and isn't cool.

V basically feeling like the team is 'holding him back' seems perfectly natural. Although I do find it funny that he says "Elves do not biologically require trance" when they totally do. His elitism is biting him in the ass and I'm enjoying the hell out of it, because V has always been a pompous jerk. Comeuppance indeed.

Though I still do wonder what's going to happen with his prophecy.

So, is it just me, or does it seem like, in exchange for playing an evil character, the DM is finally making V keep track of a familiar through Quarr or whatever the imp's name is? I know it's the lowest of the low who still see this comic through the veil of "A group playing D&D," but it just seemed that way to me strongly enough to mention it.

I guess a less idiotic way of putting it would be, "So, V's getting a familiar who won't just pop in and out at his metagaming whims?"

Reopened once more!

I don't think that Quarr is going to become V's familiar. It wouldn't make any sense since they already know that Quarr works for (or worked for anyway) Kobuta, and they watched him summon a demon, and that demon tried to kill them all. And V destroyed it.

I don't know what Quarr has planned, but he's probably just trying to figure out what happened to Kobuta and possibly trick V into getting Quarr on the ship.

"Disintegrate. Gust of Wind."

Four words spoken to the right being (Kubota!) at the right time for the wrong reasons.

And now he's off to search for his unlimited power with a demon in tow.

I am curious. Does this mean that the comic will be coming to an end. Not any time soon but it is now getting ready to shut down.

I mean, probably in 50 comics or so Haley will meet up wit Durkion res Roy and they stage a final attack on Xylon.

There's a lot of story left to tell in OotS. Have you forgotten all about the remaining gates?

I mean, Lord knows no one could blame you the pace this comic is moving.
