George W. Bush: He deserves a daytime talk show
We are nearing the end of 8 horrifying and hideous years under the worst president in US history. George W. Bush has been a disgrace in every social, domestic, economic, foreign, and military affair he ever overlooked.
George W. Bush has failed as a president and as a person. He had led a country that was experiencing wonderful growth and prosperity to the point of utter defeat. We are fighting an unwinnable war on two fronts, we have more unemployment than ever, and we're trying to be convinced our economy has completely collapsed apparently without anybody in Washington noticing until last week. This president is a complete and utter failure, and it is my firmly held belief that he should be forced to host a daytime talk show where all he does is interview people who's lives he destroyed. I'd watch it. For years to come. |
I highly doubt he's the worst president ever, I mean, you are seeing everything from your side of the political thing... I'm in no way saying Bush is the best president evarz, but yeah. You weren't around during all the previous presidencies, and if I had to guess I'd say you're probably in high school or early twenties, which means you weren't around during the Vietnam war. If you had, maybe you'd be like, "Well, Bush is bad, but at least it isn't as bad as Nam." You can't know for sure. And maybe down the line you'll find a new WORST PRESIDENT EVER to hate. Personally, I am all sorts of frustrated with how the war in Iraq is being run, but I do think it was right to go.
Also, I think Bush should be a character in Super Smash Bros. Whatever-the-hell-they-call-the-next-one. |
The "worst president EVER" thing is a tad of an exaggeration. I mean, the guy does have to compete with James Buchanan, who did absolutely nothing to stop the Civil War.
"Uhh, seceding from the union is illegal, but interfering is also illegal, so I'm going to do nothing when I actually have a chance to stop this with minimal loss of life! It's Lincoln's problem now!" You see, that's the worst president ever. Also, I'd take issue with the "George W. Bush has been a disgrace in every feasible way" argument. Fareed Zakaria said it best when he wrote this: http://www.newsweek.com/id/151731 ...and I'm pretty sure Fareed is a huge Barack Obama supporter and biased in the direction of disliking our current President, as most Americans (in my humble opinion) probably should. I mean don't get me wrong. I'm a conservative on several issues (though I find myself increasingly leaning more and more to the left then in the past), and I don't like Bush. At all. You read The War Within by Bob Woodward and you wonder exactly why the hell any of us (and I refer to myself as among 'em because yes, I did vote for Bush in 2004) ever thought of supporting him. Bush takes anti-intellectualism to a whole new level of idiocy. It's true. But the worst ever? That's kind of negating several hundred years of U.S. history where we've had plenty of competition, let me tell you. Unless Bush leads the country into a Civil War by his actions, I'm giving Buchanan permanent rights to the "top spot." |
Fine fine fine.
There have been worse presidents. But how many of them served two terms with approval rantings less than 20% |
I don't take approval ratings seriously. Nobody ever asked me if I approved. With polls, you have to look at how the question was phrased etc. etc.

A daytime talk show? Why not a late-night news report? With no teleprompter?
Then again, that would just make him spout incomprehensible rhetoric that shows his bias on current events. That'd be pretty insufferable... Oh wait... |
Yeah I mean, what's worse; Trying to do a good job and failing? Or having your only official act as president be installing a larger bathtub?
"Who's the man who can't get out, when there's bathtubs all about?" "TAFT!" "Right on." |

And tried to avoid actions that would result in the loss of human life. and I don't think he got arrested for a DUI. ...What? They had carts! You could probably get arrested for driving one drunk! |
Should also be noted that back then, children could drink alcohol legally. And if you think about it, Bush has done some good things. Let's take FEMA for example. After Katrina, people we going "Oh god, whatdowedowhatdowedo!?" and running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Fast foreward a couple years to Gustav. They had their heads in the game, and were already starting to get supplies headed that way before the hurricane struck. Who made that happon? Bush.

(I THINK it was Bush that had admitted to doing coke when he was younger. Might be mistaken.) Quote:
