"Bicycles Fucking Hate Me," or "Ow, Fuck!"
So tonight is the second time in the last... week and a half that I've taken a spill of my bike, but thankfully, I came out on top this time. The last time - last Tuesday or so, my bike fell over with me on it, and it landed on my knee and kept moving. I managed to stop myself with my hand.
I got two days off work because of a combination of swelling and bleeding. Tonight, the back tire resembles a pretzel, I've got a case of road rash on my back, and I'm missing some skin on the back of my calf. It really hurts. So Imma see what my folks say afore heading to a doctor. |
"Shouldn't be Biking While Drunk Either!"

Oooh, that's tough. You have my sympathy.
In a completely unrelated note, have you been out drinking lately? EDIT: Holy shit, ninjuu'd. |
No alcohol tonight, and none a week ago.

Seriously though, that sucks. I took a car door in the face once. I was moving out of the way for a car coming up behind me, and this guy parked in the street opened his door at the perfect moment. If it hadn't been me, I'd have probably laughed for weeks. As it is, though, I had to go to the hospital for a concussion. |
I thought a moratorium was put on the "My day/life" threads.
Tsk tsk. Though, perhaps you suffered a concusion on your latest spill. Shame noone else was the cause of this predicament, you coulda sued them and made off with the mad cash. |
I have one bit of advice for you:
Don't get a motorcycle. |
When I was younger, I got a new bike, and I was going really fast down the sidewalk, and I decided to see how powerful they breaks were. Powerful enough to stop -on that spot when I pressed full force-. Due to the speed I was going at, I unexpectantly flew forward and my groin just flew into the handle bar at maximum velocity.
That hurt. Another time I was biking really fast, and I hit a little girl that jumped in front of my bike, causing me to fly into a driveway... You know, the kind that are just hundreds of little rocks? I don't remember anything afterwards. |
I can top your pain with mine.
at age 14 i didnt knew how to ride a bike very well. Couldnt controle my speed or make good turns. My bike was a really old model, with a U shaped handlebar. When i was about to go off riding i pressed the pedal with my feet and went foward. The Handlebard came lose, the chain too... and the EXACT junction between the nail and the meat in the big toe in my foe came slicing across the dented wheel I passed out from all the bleeding ! I dont have a scar today or anything like that.. but bikes and i dont reeeeeally mix |
Hey guys? I don't know how to ride a bicycle. It's probably the reason why I never had any severe wounds.
