Halloween Costumes
 

Might be premature, but I thought I'd make a thread for people to discuss haloween costumes. What we're planning, how to make them, where to buy them, etc.

Im thinking about throwing together a Red Mage costume, but I'd need a cape (which I actually think I have) and a pimpin hat. It might be hard to get a red pimp hat. If anyone has ideas on what I could do to make this work, I'd be happy to hear suggestions.

A month and a half in advance may seem to early, but some of us are fanatics that have nothing better to do with our time than start a Halloween costume 7 weeks ahead.

Its hardly a month and a half...Its almost exactly a month now. September 28th, y'know...

I used to like halloween, but it got steadily less awesome as I got older.


And now the date is very close to the birthday of someone I'm trying very hard to forget...Makes it difficult.

So I dislike halloween out of abject pettiness and lack of anywhere to go trick-or-treating around here.

Also, crazy rednecks.

Wouldn't thinking of Halloween as "That day that's close to the birthday of someone I don't like anymore" make it harder to forget about that person?

I can't NOT think of it like that. That's the problem.

But getting off topic here, back to halloween junk.

I was going to buy a banana suit from Wal-Mart, strap aboard some maracas and turn Halloween into Peanut Butter Jelly Time, but a friend of mine bought the banana suit before I could.

Probably just to stop me. Bastard.

I'd really just prefer to do my usual thing--go as a serial killer/clone of myself/Majin version of myself, but my girlfriend's a witch and demands that I dress up for her party. So I dunno. I'll think of something horrible to punish everyone for making me do stuff.

Like really, I can just buy some fabric and make the mask and cape myself, but this freaking hat is impossible. I've even checked ebay. The problem is that since its an obscure video game reference, its unlikely that any stores will have them unless some giant FF movie gets released in the next 2 weeks.

But really, If someone on here has a Red Mage hat they're not in love with, I will buy it from them. Just send a pic and if I like it we can decide on a price.

I'm sure tons of online stores have red mage hats...If not just red feathered hats. And I remember Selfish made someone one once. I'm sure she'd make you one...And if you offered her money, all the more likely.

Depending on how much free time and dexterity you have, a month is enough to get some felt and make a hat, possibly using some wire for structure as well. I haven't checked but there's gotta be instructions somewhere on the internet.

I've got two plans: Guy from Fire Emblem or Wolverine. Guy's my favorite male character in just about any video game, but I've been told I look like wolverine right now, and then everyone would know who I am.

You do realize this means war, right?
